Highest level individual contributor generally recognized as a subject matter expert in compliance and risk-based solutions. The incumbent, through assessment of internal processes, procedures, systems and/or events, will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring strategies that mitigate risks associated with internal policies, state and/or federal regulations as well as activities performed by servicers.  

    * Leads and fosters a culture of risk awareness that promotes self identification of potential risks for NSO/Fannie Mae.
    * Effectively manages internal and external audit relationships providing business knowledge and expertise to accurately represent and respond to engagements and requests.
    * Builds and maintains strong relationships with complex business groups providing regulatory and internal policy expertise and guidance to ensure business readiness for audit engagements.
    * Is proficient in coordinating and facilitating onsite audit visits with business and audit entities.        
    * Able to design and develop remediation plans and strategies that support business adherence to regulatory and internal policy requirements.   
    * Accustomed to analyzing complex business/system infrastructures and producing applicable responses and/or action plans that demonstrate the business' progress in meeting audit and corporate policy objectives.   
    * Partners with business and/or servicer groups in the development of corrective action plans that ensure controls adequately support internal policies and/or state and federal regulations.
    * Effective at monitoring and escalating action plan progress identifying obstacles that prohibit the business from achieving successful completion.
    * Builds compelling business cases to influence senior management, leadership committees and/or department managers regarding areas of risk and need for controls related to pending or future audit investigations.

Qualifications
 

    * Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
    * 5+ years of mortgage and/or financial service industry experience; knowledge in loan servicing, default management, loss mitigation, and foreclosure and/or bankruptcy processes desired
    * 3+ years of financial services audit experience desired; knowledge of risk management and SOX controls a plus
    * High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Visio); knowledge of Business Objects, SAS, dashboard design and database management a plus
    * Must be able to meet deadlines and manage multiple data projects; strong project management discipline desired
    * Must be able to correlate varied data, draw accurate conclusions, communicate results of analysis, and make recommendations in a very dynamic operating environment
    * Must have ability (and desire) to create and integrate new concepts and approaches focused on generating innovative solutions to business issues
    * Ability to create and design customized reports and dashboard/scorecards or databases
    * Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills
    * Six Sigma certification and/or concepts used a plus
    * Results oriented
