Job Description KEY OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB The AML & Sanctions team is responsible for AML monitoring and sanctions screening for all EMEA booked business across the TSS, IB and Commercial Bank businesses. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING MEASURES)
* To review, investigate and disposition alerts generated by AML monitoring systems based on AML knowledge, judgment and appropriate research; fully documenting evidence and conclusions. * Prepare and present materials to the monthly EMEA Anti Money Laundering Monitoring Committee which contains the EMEA MLRO and Frankfurt MLRO. * Provide monthly reports to EMEA branch Compliance Officers, enabling them to evidence to their local regulators the AML monitoring completed, being conscious jurisdictional SAR requirements. * Raise AML queries to EMEA clients based on AML reviews undertaken in all three regions, and to analyse responses received back. * Review of IB third party payment and unusual trade activity reports for identification of unusual activity. * Understand AML typologies and therefore unusual activity to ensure appropriate levels of escalation. * Complete reviews of Post Office Card Account monthly filters report to identify accounts requiring escalation to government agencies. * Ad hoc or enhanced reviews at the request of the MLRO, line of business Compliance or AML & Sanctions manager. * Make decisions on potential sanction matches escalated to Compliance. This includes all EMEA Payment channels, MHS, Assets under custody, Trade Business and POCA (Post Office Card Account) accounts. * Understand regional sanction and OFAC requirements to correctly apply to escalated items. * Identification and creation in sanctions filters of bad guys based on analysis of potential matches. * Identification and creation in sanctions filters of good guys and rules to effectively manage volumes, whilst not creating sanctions risk. * Report rejected and blocked transactions / accounts to local sanction governing bodies (e.g. OFAC 10 day report) for EMEA booked business. * Respond to ad hoc Sanction queries from LOB and Compliance. * Develop and deliver appropriate training (sanction and focused AML) to LOBs. * Review of repetitive transactions non compliant with the EU Wire Regulation to determine appropriate action. *
