Summary: Set and execute strategy for Construction Loan Administration in partnership with other departmental leaders, aligning to the overarching business objectives. Responsible for budgeting, hiring, purchasing, internal systems and salary administration across a broad geography. Direct involvement on procedures, policies, and training programs for all Construction Loan products. Oversee team effectiveness. Responsibilities: Provides leadership, coaching, and supervision for a CLA organization with employees located in various CLA sites. Manages business unit to ensure consistent implementation and execution of CLA operational processes. Prepares implements and ensures adherence to unit's business and operational plans. Responsible to assist in developing and meeting budget and to appropriately allocate / direct resources. Ensures that performance measures are clearly established and monitored. Provides input to upper levels of management, as needed. Maintains open line of communication with staff to discuss organizational news or changes in process and impact on customers or services. Assists team members by providing guidance and feedback on complex real estate, legal, operational, administrative, and personnel issues. Continually evaluates CLA processes to design, recommend, and implement innovative solutions to workflow problems. Interfaces directly with managers and team members of internal customer and business partner units. Exhibits excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Serves as central contact point for customers, Relationship Managers, Credit Officers, Underwriters, Portfolio Managers and other Bank Personnel. Provides resolution of complex and diversified operational or technical issues involving a variety of construction loans. Promotes commitment to quality customer service strategies. Encourages interaction of team members with other job families as well as customers. Demonstrates expert knowledge of Construction Loan Administration process and procedures. Serves as liaison for Construction Loan Administration with other job families, including Middle Market, Commercial Real Estate, Small Business and Community Development Finance construction-related requirements. Typical Work Experience: Minimum Qualifications/Must Have: Minimum 15 years experience in the field of construction lending - as a Construction Loan Administrator/Manager. In-depth understanding of real estate products, services and construction documentation. Prior management experience. Exhibit excellent leadership, decision-making and organizational skills. Expert at managing multiple concurrent tasks. Excellent customer relationship skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - written, verbal, and listening. Recognized leader in subject matter Must be able to travel Preferred: Advanced degree Graduate of formal Commercial Credit and/or Real Estate Training Capital One will not file non-immigrant visa petitions for alien workers.
