Job Description:

You will also coordinate Global Research compliance requirements associated with the regulatory mandates of the Department of Homeland Security Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) and act in a supporting role in the development and testing of business crisis management plans and security initiatives.



You will be a technical expert in the associated regulatory requirements of government classified programs and CFATS developing business policy and procedures and training in the administration of the security program requirements at Global Research. You will also participate, develop and/or lead organization security initiatives as directed by the Global Security Director.



You will:
  • Coordinate the design, construction, system installation and security administration of all classified programs as the GE GRC Facility Security Officer.
  • Oversight responsibility of the classified programs information technology including the responsibilities of the Information Systems Security Manager.
  • Perform as the site Communications Security (COMSEC) custodian.
  • Work with the GE Global Research Business Development Team engaging in all proposals and contracts that require a classified environment and provide budgetary estimates.
  • Develop, implement and maintain all regulatory compliance requirements of the CFATS program leading a cross-functional business team.
  • Work within the Security Team on event management, event security as well as organizational goals and objectives.· Work with the GRC business crisis management team in the development and testing of business plans and incident response.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree.
  • Knowledge of the NISPOM and COMSEC requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, work experience and successful application in a security, safety or military regulatory compliance field as a technical expert.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead regulatory compliance programs.
  • Eligibility to receive and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
  • High proficiency using PC applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to required security clearance.
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • If currently a GE Employee, you must have been in your current position for at least 24 months and have at least an Excellent performance rating.

  • Bachelors Degree in a Security or technical related field.
  • Experience in implementing the requirements as set forth in the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual, Director of Central Intelligence Directives, and Joint Air Force Army Navy regulations.
  • Experience in a regulatory compliance related field of security and emergency response.
  • Experience as an Information System Security Manager.
  • Experience as a COMSEC custodian or alternate COMSEC custodian duties.
  • Active Top Secret or Secret clearance.
  • Experience with DHS Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards.
  • Experience in conducting investigations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
  • Excellent teamwork with the ability to work across disciplines and functions.
  • Self motivated with a strong work ethic.
