Job Description The Compliance team is currently looking for an officer to join the team in London. ROLE SUMMARY: The role of Client ID is to process new UK client relationships across Investment Banking, Private Banking and Asset Management. Specifically, Client ID analysts verify the identity of prospective new clients in accordance with the FSA rules, the UK’s Joint Money Laundering Steering Group (JMLSG) Guidance Notes and Credit Suisse policies and procedures. In addition, Client ID analysts verify that sanctions and reputational screening has taken place using a variety of systems; ensure that our clients are correctly categorised as Retail, Professional or Eligible Counterparties according to the FSA rules; and ensure compliance with a number of other MiFID related matters.
Client ID analysts are also expected to become involved in project work designed to continually improve the operational efficiency of the team. Certain projects will involve other parts of Compliance not directly linked to the employee’s day-to-day responsibilities.
Presently the UK Client ID team comprises five London based analysts plus a team supervisor. The team also has the dedicated support for Investment Banking matters of three Pune based analysts.
This role arises as a result of the internal transfer of a current Client ID analyst to another part of the Compliance Department.
THE ROLE INVOLVES: Candidate will be expected to undertake this role for a minimum of 18 months to two years. In that time, it is expected that the candidate will learn the regulatory requirements and processing needs for simple client structures to begin with (such as listed companies, regulated companies and individuals) and, in time, be able to understand and process more complicated legal structures such as private companies in high risk jurisdictions, special purpose vehicles, trusts and hedge funds.
Candidate will be expected to gain an understanding of how Credit Suisse is organised, which businesses we are involved with and our regulatory risk appetite. Candidate will also be expected to become involved in and subsequently lead projects to completion. At first this will be under supervision, but a successful candidate will be able to manage their own time and projects quickly.

DIVISION/DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW: Client ID team is one of three UK Anti-Money Laundering (AML) teams reporting into the Money Laundering Reporting Officer/Head of EMEA AML Compliance. The other two teams cover 1) AML surveillance, monitoring and investigations and 2) EMEA region co-ordination, including the handling of politically exposed persons and on-site visits to the 23 EMEA locations where Credit Suisse has a local presence.
In total EMEA Compliance comprises over 100 professionals, split as follows: approx. 55% in the UK and the remaining 45% in various EMEA locations. .
