Job Description Compliance assesses the regulatory risk in the region and provides policies, procedures, programs and guidance to assist the firm in meeting the regulatory requirements. The role of this position is to be a member of the Internal Governance Team within the Compliance Department, interacting with management of businesses and control functions, giving advice and guidance promptly. Briefings for management will need to be prepared and presented. The role also requires the building of relationships internally and, with experience, externally with key regulators. Internal Governance
* Help provide oversight of the regulated and unregulated subsidiaries on the group in the EMEA region. * In conjunction with Finance, help plan and monitor regulatory capital requirements. * Help support the Boards in implementing the legal entity strategy. * Ensure the regulatory capital and licences are up-to-date and line with the growth of the business and legal entity strategy. * Provide Compliance support and booking entity advice on New Business Initiatives.
Regulatory Liaison and Developments
* Help maintain close liaison with JPMC's regulators (OCC, Fed & FSA). Ensure regular and ad hoc non-financial regulatory reporting is performed, help plan visits, including the FSA Arrow review, and provide support to the business. * Establish links with line of business and risk and support functions to ensure regulatory developments are communicated appropriately.
Projects
* Analyse and scrutinise new business proposals. * Facilitate special projects, including business migrations and legal entity restructuring, M&A activity and re-organisations.
Merger / restructuring / acquisition activities
* Being the focal point for the merger & restructuring activities within the department. * Assist in liaison with external advisors & FSA. * Supervising change of control notifications. * Coordinating presentations for the FSA on these aspects and preparing / submitting material.
