Acceptance/OAT Manager



Overall Job Purpose



Manage Change Acceptance and OATprocess for Data Warehouse



Key Accountabilities & approximate time split (%)%3C/SPAN>



65% Acceptance Manager



  • Manage DWS Service Change Acceptance (CA) process, act as single point of contact for projects and internal GRCBT Project Managers for change implementation within DWS

  • Manage DWS Acceptance mailbox, answering and resolving queries from PM's

  • Resolve conflicts and issues with Handover or Implementation dates and non compliance to process, escalating to Team Leader and Head of DWS where necessary

  • Ensure that all CA Criteria met prior to implementation

  • Chair CA meetings and produce relevant reports

  • Book Implementation and Handover dates

  • Work with GISD Release management to ensure that DWS Changes are within Aggregated Change Schedule

  • Identify and own continuous improvements for CA process

  • Liaise with Technical Change Reviewer and Implementer to ensure adherence to acceptance process

  • Produce MI for CA process

  • Work with Technical Support teams to identify change related failure (CRF)

  • Work with Technology Offices and Service Delivery to resolve change related escalations from Business

  • Work with Technical teams to define and own Acceptance criteria for Data Warehouse



35% OAT Manager



  • Monitor adherence to Data Warehousing Services OAT process

  • Working with projects to ensure that OAT Entry criteria met

  • Work with Ab Initio ETL support team to book OAT slots for Ab initio implementations

  • Work with South African teams to book OAT slots for their implementations

  • Managing OAT implementation booking process and managing OAT Analyst to deliver OAT work package for projects

  • Streamlining processes and managing conflicts in OAT bookings where necessary



Person Specification



The ideal candidate should :-



  • Have experience of implementing change within a technical run area including test management

  • Understand the GRCB Change lifecycle and associated processes

  • Be flexible and able to organise own workload and others

  • Adaptable and have a personality that is able to work with different types of technicians so as to be able to allocate their tasks and monitor them for completion

  • Be prepared to take up training where necessary in the completion of their job

  • Be available to work certain requested and reasonable hours over and above their normal work times to ensure completion of certain critical projects

  • Be able to work to very tight deadlines

  • Be able to own and work to resolve issues with Change process



Technical Skills



  • Awareness of Teradata or other relational database

  • Awareness of UNIX and Mainframe platforms

  • Awareness of Quality Center

  • Understanding of TWS Batch Schedules and jobs

  • Understanding of Microsoft EXCEL and ACCESS

  • Awareness of Endeavor and other code control applications
