Purpose Of the Role
- Build, develop and lead GISD Engineering and Support team based out of India and to deliver a quality service to GRB
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by proactively driving exceptional levels of performance at the same time delivering cost efficiency and operational stability.
- Driving infrastructure engineering services and Infrastructure Production Support Services to best in class levels of performance, reliability and availability
- Accountability for managing the delivery & operation governance of vendor organizations, working with the appropriate teams within the wider GRB Technology structure. Where appropriate, forge strategic partnerships that create measurable "value add" for both parties.
- Ensuring that GISD India operates in accordance with the established (internal and external best practice) controls, compliance and governance frameworks. This requires appropriate management of operational risk, ensuring that employees understand and are capable of meeting the requirements upon them, and that policies and process are robust and adhered to.
- Overall responsibility to deliver cost challenges and hit Short Term Plan (STP) targets.
- Pro-active demand management with internal customers.
- Relationship management with key internal and external stakeholders. Forge strong partnerships with both the business and the rest of the global technology organization.
- Manage both internal and external resources (e.g. 3rd party suppliers) to deliver against GISD business plan.
- Establish key performance goals & measurements for the BTCI GISD organization via rigorous planning and execution.
- Be accountable for overall Employee Engagement and improving employee satisfaction (EOS) scores
- Ensuring appropriate engagement & communication model is set up and working effectively to manage a large & global team
Key Accountabilities
A) Build / Develop / Lead the GISD Engineering and Support Organization in India
Operate as a key member of the extended GISD global leadership team and participate in and contribute to the definition and implementation of global strategy for ISD
Work in coordination with the GISD Engineering and Support Functional Heads (Direct Reports of Global Head of GISD) to direct and plan global operation and develop India as one of the core Engineering Centre
Be accountable for Leadership team hiring and staffing to build India as a core engineering centre. Be accountable for all Engineering and Support hirings in GISD, India.
Represent GISD Leadership in special Programs & projects spanning across GRB Technology (not restricted to GISD alone), e.g., being a part of BTC India Leadership team.
B) Operational Management & Compliance
Ensure disciplined operations, service, risk and financial management in line with Global ISD standards and governance
Ensure meaningful service and operational performance measures are in place and ensure delivery to target
Drive focused and effective incident and problem detection, management and resolution
Act as Single point of escalation in relation to services carried by GISD teams in India
Drive service and operational improvement planning and delivery
Management of 3rd parties (directly or oversight depending upon degree of engagement)
Compliance to all regulatory, risk and audit requirements in the live arena where directly accountable
C) Commercial management
Accountability for resource planning, budgeting and financial governance for the GISD Engineering and Support India organization
Delivery of cost reduction / productivity improvements generally and specifically as required
Driving best value from vendors (working with Commercial colleagues) on operational break/fix/maintenance of infrastructure and in delivery of change
D) Business Unit Leadership
Implement GISD Vision and Strategy
Build a strong and effective second line leadership team for GISD Engineering and Support India and be responsible for building an aligned and high performing leadership
Drive collaboration and best practice across the teams
Drive accountability among direct reports and skip level reports to build internal capability and add selective external talent as necessary.
Establish an organization that is highly efficient and engaged to deliver against the Department goals - accountable for staff development, engagement and career planning.
· Track record of leading organizational transformation and of delivering business results during periods of organizational change;
· Ability to manage and drive 3rd party partnerships to engender true value add and "win-win" relationships;
· Ability to develop strong relationships across peer groups, with evidence of having advised/influenced senior executives in the delivery of potential business/technical opportunities;
· Have a good understanding of and experience in managing change programs impacting multiple teams spread across regions
· Demonstrable evidence of team leadership, development of talent and recruitment of A players;
· Strong interpersonal skills and team play
· Effective cost management and commercial awareness
· Strong focus on Risk Management including an understanding of Group policies
· Proven track record of delivery using virtual teams in a complex, matrix management and multi-vendor environment
· Experienced in managing technology delivery using virtual teams
· Highly customer focused Track record of managing IT operations measured by availability, efficiency and effectiveness.
· Experience of working in a high volume transaction environment (preferably within financial services) and working across multiple technology functions (e.g. architecture, information security, vendor management and disaster recovery); Solid understanding of the software development process and application design and their interaction with an infrastructure organization and how to optimize performance by marrying the two groups effectively;
