A fantastic opportunity to lead a team of circa 15 KYC Managers within the Global Transactional Sales Team. Clients cover a diverse range of industries from multinational corporates, insurance companies and brokers along with fund managers and various types of brokers. As well as managing the day to day running of the team assisting the Head of KYC and Operational Rigour with the implementation of the new KYC standards later this year will be a key part of the role.




The Risk Control Units are critical to the performance of the Corporate Bank. To put it succinctly, our work underpins the bank's understanding and management of its risk exposure (credit and operational) to our customers. There are plenty of opportunities to shine in the RCU and develop yourself into an accomplished banker.


You will have proven experience in a Risk role within a banking enviroment dealing with senior stakeholders





Job Purpose


  • Ensure Lending Documentation and Security prepared by the CCMs, is prepared and executed in accordance with sanction and compliant

  • Set up and then manage robust monitoring & control systems & procedures to identify and act upon/report early warning signs in the lending book and ensure all covenants, conditions and triggers are adhered to re assets typically totaling £1bn.

  • Set up and then manage robust data integrity procedures, to assist other RCUs in completion of Sarbox controls

  • Ensure that Risk Control & Credit procedures are adhered to and enhanced where possible.

  • Assist HRCU in performance management of RCU, undertaking duties for all B4s and a small number of B5s



Main Accountabilities and approximate time split

Team Management 50%%3C/SPAN>


  • Assist HRCU in the performance management, development, coaching and motivating of the RCU

  • Work with the HRCU to ensure that relevant training is maintained to a high level across the team. To include Business Risk Analysis, Credit Analysis, Deal Structuring, Pricing and Monitoring & Control procedures

  • Ensure that Best Practice, Skills and Knowledge are shared across the team, where appropriate working with other areas of the Bank

  • Ensure that product & market knowledge is maintained to a high level within the team

  • Support the HRCU in Succession Planning for the RCU to include identification of new recruits and the recruitment & selection process

  • Work closely with the Relationship Team and Specialist Lending (and, where appropriate Structured Finance) to ensure effective management of day to day staff resources to ensure that procedures and processes are followed, that appropriate support is provided to the BLF Directors and that added value is provided where possible


Business Management 50%%3C/SPAN>


  • Meet the requirements of Structured Finance & Relationship Teams for "transaction support" at all times

  • Ensure appropriate analysis and clarity in respect of required/requested facilities, conditions of sanction, monitoring & control etc thereby maintaining the quality of the credit risk profile of the portfolio

  • Support the HRCU in reviewing & driving enhancements to the business model for monitoring & control process with a view to streamlining or automating processes/procedures to improve the cost to serve model.

  • Undertake Quality Assurance in respect of the Monitoring & Control Process within the team. This will ensure prompt identification of breaches in conditions of sanction, triggers and other early warning signs in asset quality and ensure all covenants and triggers are adhered to re lending book of circa £1bn.

  • Support the HRCU in establishing & maintaining systems and procedures in relation to completion of due-diligence on securitisation and structured finance transactions.

  • Support the HRCU in the application of Larger Business Operational Controls and checks framework including implementation of any regulatory impacts on the team.

  • Responsible for the CCM team's Data Quality integrity and for the coordination of any related remediation exercises




Technical Skills/Competencies

Skills required to undertake the role:

Knowledge and Expertise (relating to specialist knowledge and expertise required to undertake the role. May include knowledge of the Bank's products, services and policies)

Essential


  • Expert knowledge of credit risk monitoring tools and procedures.

  • In depth knowledge of Credit analysis and controls in the Larger Business Arena, including use of Zeus and other Bank systems

  • Expert IT skills, notably in use of Excel

  • Good working knowledge of regulatory impacts as they impact the team e.g. CCI, FSA etc.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation - Money Laundering, Data Protection, Financial Services Act, Health & Safety Act, Banking Code, GISC, etc.

  • Detailed knowledge of the systems used within Business Banking

  • Knowledge of the range of products and services delivered via the Corporate Relationship Teams

  • Knowledge of business continuity and contingency planning


Preferred


  • Good understanding of the policies and strategies across the Barclays Group as they relate to the demands of the team's customer base

  • Good understanding of Barclays Leveraged Finance and how its lending differs to the rest of the Barclays Group

  • Sound in depth knowledge of the typical products and services required by large corporate customers

  • Understanding of the wider Business Banking operating structures, strategies and key stakeholders


Experience, qualifications and other requirements specific to the role

Essential


  • Proven track record of successful performance management

  • ACIB (or other relevant financial professional qualification)
