Overall Job Purpose


To support the Barclays Performance Management team in working closely with the Group's businesses to establish expectations around their future performance and providing insightful analysis around key KPIs and business drivers for ExCo and board deliverables


Key Accountabilities & approximate time split (%)%3C/SPAN>


1) Capital Analysis (30%)%3C/DIV>


  • Assist the BPM capital analysis team in producing accurate and robust analysis of capital allocation across all BPM processes

  • Responsible for collecting, analysing and managing regulatory capital cluster data for use in capital analysis calculations

  • Responsible for setting up capital metrics summary sheets, sending out to clusters for review, obtaining sign-off from clusters and managing cluster communication

  • Assist with ad hoc capital analysis work, to support the Group Executive Committee and the Board



2) Competitor Reporting (15%)%3C/B>



  • Assist in the preparation of reports showing analysis of our competitors performance

  • Responsible for building and maintaining PowerPoint pages for cluster peer analysis

  • Responsible for inputting competitors financials into database. Develop insights into our performance versus competitors through understanding of key business drivers and results, reviewing analyst notes and writing insightful commentary

  • Assist in ad hoc competitors analysis, particularly around Interim Management Statements and significant market events



3) Ad Hoc Decision Support & Project Work (10%)%3C/DIV>

Assist in:



  • 'Rapid reaction' for ad hoc requests from Business Performance customers, e.g. Group CFO and FC

  • Information gathering and analysis

  • 'On demand' insightful analysis across a broad range of outputs



4) Relationship Manager: Regulatory Reporting team (15%)%3C/DIV>

  • Manage the BPM relationship with regulatory reporting team, including timely collection of monthly regulatory capital cluster data



5) Preparation of Capital and Competitors analysis team pages in BPM reports (30%)%3C/DIV>

  • Be responsible for creating, editing and formatting high quality documents using in-house templates to ensure all output adheres to the BPM common look and feel

  • Produce documents with speed and accuracy to meet process deadlines

  • Ensure all aspects of document production, including PowerPoint documents and Excel source data, are produced using BPM standards and protocols, to include: Look and feel, linking data, file naming conventions, file and folder management, versioning, archiving and back-ups

  • Ensure ability in PowerPoint and Excel is improved to an advanced level by attending internal an externally led training courses and using online training materials

  • Reflect feedback from Head of Design and Reporting and process owners in deliverables to ensure expectations are always met


Manage the actual logistics of production and delivery (report checking, printing and binding), ensuring delivery is on time and produced in the appropriate format)

Essential


  • Highly motivated self starter

  • Working towards/ completed financial qualification

  • Strong communication skills

  • Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills

  • Advanced Excel and Modelling skills

  • Strong Powerpoint skills


Preferred


  • Strong (2:1) university degree or equivalent

  • Understanding of the Financial Services sector

  • Understanding of regulatory capital
