Job Title: Sr. System Analyst
Department Operations, ResMor Trust Company
Reports Directly to: Manager, IT Development & Business Analysis
Company/Location: ResMor Trust - Toronto Job Summary: The Sr. System Analyst acts as the system requirements project lead for medium to large projects. This individual will partner with the project teams, IT groups and business clients to improve business operations and focus IT investments to deliver and sustain value-added solutions. The incumbent will be responsible for combining their strong business knowledge and technical expertise to facilitate solutions in various business channels, such as; Banking, Finance, Mortgage Lending, and Deposit Taking with a view to strengthen the capability and capacity of the IT organization. Essential Accountabilities: - Identify, Implement and maintain controls to mitigate operational risks. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Conceptualize, design, construct, test, and implement portions of business and technical information technology solutions through application of appropriate software development life cycle methodology for new applications and enhancements to existing applications and interfaces, and understand implications of modifications.
- Use effective analysis methods to clearly understand business requirements and create process solutions / systems models, functional/technical specifications, diagrams and charts to make recommendations to management and to provide direction to system programmers/developers.
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
- Establish and maintain security, integrity, and business continuity controls and documents.
- Ensure compatibility, interoperability, and data integration of in-house systems, third party vendor solutions, and reporting environments.
- Develop system test plans and lead system testing, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies and develop business cases for system enhancements based on organizational strategic direction.
- Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
- Ability to adapt to a variety of situations and styles, with a strong determination to succeed.
- Provide guidance and mentorship for developers and application support staff
- Stay current on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies.
Competencies Technical Competencies: - Excellent ability to architect multi-tier web and windows applications using the .Net framework and Visual Studio.
- Strong understanding of database and warehouse design/development using Oracle technologies. Able to design and transform a business model into a physical implementation.
- Thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle with focus on waterfall and agile models.
- Experience working in medium to large sized projects with an understanding of project management methodologies.
- Ability to use UML and other common modeling techniques to convey ideas and transform requirements into system specifications.

Education/Work Experience : Education: - University degree in Computer Science or equivalent education or equivalent work experience.
Work Experience: - 7+ years experience in a system analysis environment, supporting medium to large size projects.
- 5+ years experience with business technology systems in either of the following:
- Business experience that includes working closely with IT in the development and implementation of systems
- IT experience in business system analysis in a large-scale environment across multiple hardware and software platforms.
- 5+ years experience in the Mortgage and/or Banking industries.
- 3+ years experience in a .NET and multi platform environment.
Work Environment : - Minimal travel may be required.
