Job Description:

The JPMorgan Chase Audit Department is accountable to the Audit and Examining Committee of the Board of Directors, the Office of the Chairman, senior management and our global and local regulators. The global Audit Department has in excess of 500 Audit Officers.


The Global Asset Management Audit Team is responsible for assessing the adequacy of the control environments across both the Investment Management and Private Banking businesses. This is achieved through a program of audit coverage which is performed and managed by a global team of integrated financial business and technology specialists.


The Audit department in Asia has an onsite presence in 7 locations, namely Hong Kong, China, Japan, Singapore, India, Australia and Manila.


Position Description


This role is an audit manager to join the Asset Management Asia Audit Team. The role is based in Hong Kong reporting to the Asset Management Regional Manager.


The applicant must be an experienced professional who possesses strong auditing skills, good knowledge of financial instruments, risk concepts, and a strong understanding of internal control systems within a financial institution. This includes a working knowledge of investment management and/or private bank business activities. Good knowledge of accounting concepts and Finance controls is considered a plus. This individual should be a strong team player, able to multi-task and work under pressure in a dynamic business environment.



Responsibilities


  • Lead all aspects of audit activities including risk assessments, audit planning, audit testing, control evaluation, report drafting, work paper documentation and follow up and verification of issue closure.

  • Ensure audits are performed to professional standards and departmental practices.

  • Partner with colleagues and stakeholders to evaluate, test and report on the adequacy and effectiveness of management controls, and make appropriate recommendations for improvement. This may be achieved through specific audit reviews or through ongoing involvement in major activities or projects.

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify trends.

  • Develop and maintain business relationships to monitor changes in the control environment.

  • Stay up to date with evolving regulatory and market wide aspects impacting Asset Management and financial services industry.


The position may require travel of up to 20% %26nbsp;
Essential skills/experience

Candidate should possess a minimum of 7 years of financial services industry experience with exposure to investment management and/or private banking. Strong auditing skills or knowledge of risk and control function is required.


  • Ability to act independently with minimum direction and supervision - Ability to carry out complex tasks under considerable time pressure, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality

  • Excellent communication (i.e. verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex and sensitive issues to senior management, and influence change.

  • Self motivated audit professional who effectively analyses risk and proactively identifies issues.

  • Flexible to set individual goals and objectives to be consistent with those of the Audit department

  • Have a good understanding of the location regulatory requirements will be a plus

Fluent English - both verbal and written communication
