  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of QA analysts to ensure adherence to our policies, standards and guidelines.
  • Recommend and/or review proposed changes to policies, standards and guidelines, processes and procedures to ensure we effectively originate and manage the credit portfolio consistent with the quality objectives. 
  • Implement approved changes.
  • Maintain credit standards, guidelines and policies through appropriate manuals.
  • Maintain, manage and execute the mortgage broker registration process.
  • Maintain the established due diligence standards for broker registration.
  • Recommend for approval brokers who meet the appropriate standards
  • Work with the sales, underwriting and compliance teams to evaluate broker performance and recommend maintaining or ending relationships with brokers.
  • Provide reporting to senior management including the credit risk committee on results of QA reviews.
  • Manage investor audits as required
  Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree along with a minimum of 5 years credit risk management experience. Preference will be given to candidates with an MBA.
  • 5+ years in a leadership position, preferably in a bank or mortgage company
  Candidate Profile
  • Coaching and leadership skills to provide feedback and guidance to analysts
  • Understanding/knowledge of credit scoring and risk rating methodologies
  • Analysis of underwriting – credit, income, assets/liabilities and property, assessing and mitigating risk
  • Comprehensive understanding of CMHC/Genworth underwriting guidelines and standards
  • Good presentation skills to communicate technical theories to non-specialists.
  • Audit/quality control experience a definite asset
