The QA Senior Analyst /Team Lead approves required tests and testing strategies based on the scope and risk of the test basis. They are accountable for test program execution, monitoring and reporting on testing progress within each test cycle and assessing the overall functional and non-functional quality of software based systems. The Senior Analyst plays an accountable role in the design, development and application of testing standards, techniques, methodology, testing process management, test tools and quality improvement initiatives within the scope of the software development life cycle. Role Specific - Determines appropriate process, methodology, techniques (including test tools and test automation) to apply to the test project
- Performs test image and test environment deployment, setup and teardown in the test lab or test target servers (e.g. Browser/OS, Client configuration, test tools etc.)
- Contributes to test planning, maintains budget and cost controls, timeline management, resource management, project scheduling, distribution of work and cross-functional test status communications
- Tests high complexity system applications and verifies all output
- Report any product defects or non-compliance with business/functional requirements
- Deploy and adopt RUP standards
- Conduct trend and root cause analysis
- Assess the readiness of all products and works with the Deployment team to plan the deployment schedule
People Management - Completes costing of Resource Management, Project Management and Project Change documents
- Completes sizing for low to high complexity projects
- Train others on QC methodology and tools
- Oversee 3-5 QC Analysts on a single project from an activity management perspective; provide insight into their performance rating
- Represent QCS in structured team meetings and have significant interaction with Project Managers (where appropriate)
Knowledge Sharing / Documentation - Creates and maintains supporting documentation and administrative reports (e.g Test Execution Reports, Status Reports, Dashboards, Metrics, etc.)
- Actively participates and trains others in the deployment, adoption and improvement of the RUP/CMMI/ISO/MOF/ITIL standards for all developed/supported systems
- Actively participates in process improvement initiatives by providing feedback on deployed process, helping with the piloting and training of software quality control methodologies
Education/Others : Bachelors Degree/University Degree and/or Undergraduate Diploma in Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics or equivalent experience Years of Experience : 8-10 Technical Skills - Expert understating of SDLC and QA/QC Concepts, metrics analysis, methodologies and documentations standards
- Expert understanding and experience in all aspects of RUP/CMMI/TQM/ISO/MOF/ITIL standards for all developed/supported systems
- Experience with Mercury Quality Center or Rational tools
- Experience with defect tracking tools
- Experience with traceability
- Experience with Test Automation tools
- Expert MS Excel skills
- Advanced exposure to test automation and test cycle management tools
- Advanced SQL skills
