(Please note this is a 14-month contract with benefits) THEOPPORTUNITY: Under the direction of the National Shared Services (NSS) Controller, the Manager, Financial Analysis is responsible for supporting assigned groups as the Finance contact for questions related to financial results. The incumbent will provide forecasts, headcount reports, financial statements, budgets and other analyses as required, and will manages and provides direction to 3 staff. The successful candidate will:

  • Prepare and / or co-ordinate the preparation of monthly financial reports and supporting schedules for ITS, and review of these reports with ITS senior management and NSS Controller.

  • Co-ordinate the preparation of project analyses and various statistics of a confidential or sensitive nature for ITS, and review these reports with ITS management.

  • Work with NSS Controller and ITS leadership in the preparation of the annual budgets for ITS.

  • Coordinate the preparation of assigned balance sheet accounts for NSS.

  • Coordinate the preparation and review the capital asset accounting and budgeting for the firm, including the monthly capital asset reports, annual capital budget, and annual tax schedules for the partnership tax returns.

  • Coordinate the preparation and review commodity tax returns for the firm. Monitor compliance with legislation. Prepare documentation for audits, liaise with auditors, and address audit issues.

  • Prepare necessary reports and consolidate costs to support 5-Year Strategy project analyses.

  • Review and prepare financial reports, analysis, commodity tax returns, cash flow reporting for the Global Resource Centre (GRC) and invoices to the GRC.

  • Provide motivation, coaching, training and developmental opportunities for team members, while providing regular formal and informal feedback.

  • Other duties as assigned.

THE SKILLS & BEHAVIOURS:
A successful candidate will possess the following skills and behaviours:

  • CGA or CMA (completed or in finalist level).

  • 3+ years in a Senior Accounting or Senior Analyst position.

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and concepts.

  • Advanced Excel skills, and an ability to learn new software programs.

  • Self starter with an ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • High level of organization, with a well-developed attention to detail and ability to multi-task in order to meet time-sensitive deadlines. Ability to balance needs of multiple stakeholders in the most effective and efficient manner.

  • Previous experience providing motivation, coaching, training and developmental opportunities for team members, as well as formal and informal feed-back.

  • Client service orientation with a mature, diplomatic attitude.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
