KPMG's Advisory Services Practice focuses on fundamental business issues - managing risk, increasing revenues, controlling costs - that organizations, across various industries, should address in order to help them flourish. We help companies to identify and manage risks inherent in business processes and technology systems that support business objectives, and provide them with the information needed to help them meet their strategic and financial goals. Services are specialized to help clients mitigate risks across an overall risk spectrum. We are currently seeking an Associate/ Senior Associate to join us in our Atlanta, Charlotte or New York office.

Financial Risk Management (FRM) professionals help management and boards of directors to identify, measure, and monitor financial and business risks, the relationships between risks and returns, and the control environment over the management and reporting of these risks. In the very complex world of financial instruments, FRM professionals have assisted in valuation approaches, stress testing, model development and risk rating, and measurement approaches to help management leverage the leading practices in risk identification and measurement.

FRM's Operations segment provides institutions with a full line of services to assist in proactively seeking new strategies for revenue growth while also keeping a pulse on the payments marketplace.

Responsibilities for both positions:

Participate on large scale banking initiatives focused on delivering operational, technical, and/or product development change, such as system and operational conversions, mergers and integrations, enhancements, process re-engineering and new product development. This should include experience across the project lifecycle including: assisting with scope definition, business case development, vendor assessment, requirements gathering, functional and technical design, testing, training, and implementation phases

Assistance with development of financial analysis focused on determining impact from initiatives, providing return on investment (ROI) percentage, payback period, and net present value calculations based on specific user inputs and potentially multiple scenarios

Contribute to design, preparation, and analysis of reports and findings in a clear, logical, and concise manner

Additional responsibilities for Senior Associate:

Assist Partners and Senior Managers in the creation of proposals, business development, and practice administration

Serve as a liaison between clients and upper management

Identify and communicate technical matters to both clients and upper management

Serve as mentor to Associates and new hires

Qualifications for both positions:

Demonstrated knowledge of teller transaction processing including but not limited to procedures for deposits, payments, purchases, batching and balancing

Strong understanding of teller regulatory procedures and reporting processes

Deep knowledge of teller operating policies procedures such as check cashing, overrides / approvals, fraud detection, endorsement procedures, reversals, etc.

Experience with branch devices such as Automated Teller Machine, Cash Dispenser, MICR Readers, Pin Pads, image scanners, self service kiosks, etc.

Understanding of branch vault processes

Strong knowledge of teller audit requirements and procedures

Excellent written and verbal communications

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Proven ability to make and sustain meaningful client relationships

Proficient MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project skills

Ability to travel

Additional qualifications for Senior Associate:

Three years relevant experience

Demonstrated supervisory experience

Well established understanding of business dynamics and operations
