Summary: The Technical Architect will be part of the engineering team broadly responsible for designing infrastructure solutions for the enterprise. Primary focus will be on managing various aspects of a private cloud specifically built for Java/JEE applications. Will be accountable for implementation of data center infrastructure and manage cross-functional team to deliver IT infrastructure simplification initiatives. · Manage various aspects of a shared horizontal platform for hosting java applications for the enterprise · Handle governance and process implementation for the applications sharing the platform · Lead maturity and transformation of the platform, developing new capabilities · Lead design and implementation of platform solutions to ensure conformity to non-functional requirements · Lead infrastructure build and setup, working with data center personnel and network, storage engineers · Perform triage and root cause analysis on horizontal platforms · Measure and track performance of JEE applications · Lead teams to enhance performance and achieve targets · Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness · Contribute to and implement standards and changes to systems and processes · Support enterprise-wide compliance with enterprise standards, processes and policies · Manage up to 3 people Basic Qualifications: · Bachelor's Degree · 2 years of experience producing engineering design artifacts · 3 years of experience with Application design/development in Java, Weblogic, or XML · Bachelors Degree in Information Systems/MIS or Science · 5 years experience in IT development and JEE and/or .NET applications · 2 Years experience as a team lead or manager · 2 Years experience in Project Management · Familiarity of hardware infrastructure (servers, load balancer, networks, etc.) · Design and development experience of Java based Web Applications · Familiarity of data center infrastructure components such as servers, network and load balancers · Strong communication and influencing skills At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position
