Additionally, specialist will assist with strategic growth related projects across the Retail Services business.  
  • Track record of driving marketing strategy for credit card products
  • Ability to develop annual marketing strategies for merchant programs, including the creation of comprehensive marketing calendars  
  • Proven experience planning, executing, managing, and evaluating direct response marketing programs, including: 
1.        Lifecycle marketing campaigns 2.        Direct mail campaigns designed to acquire new customers or build balances for existing customers 3.       Statement messages and inserts
  • Experience with merchant facing credit marketing, preferably in the home improvement vertical
  • Planning and executing test and learn strategies for campaigns
  • Experience with eMarketing and loyalty programs
  • Ability to run segmentation analysis and translate results into actionable marketing programs
  • Experience managing multiple 3rd party marketing vendors/publishers
  • Collaborating with purchasing, legal and third-party risk organizations to maintain compliance while meeting the objectives of the merchant and Retail Services
  • Excellent communication, including written, verbal, and clear, confident presentation skills
  • Ability to project manage strategic marketing growth initiatives simultaneously
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining strong client relationships
This position works under general direction and is responsible for developing, coordinating, executing and implementing current and/or new marketing campaign/business development initiatives for two or more of the following roles General Marketing, Product Management, Product Development, and/or e-Business. Supervise individuals on specific projects/programs or project teams. Ensure integrative decision-making within area of responsibility taking into account alternative business drivers such as sustainability and brand positioning within market environment. Benchmark, communicate, and track program execution and results. Monitor external conditions, including markets, competition, demographics and regulations, to ensure products meet customer needs while maintaining market competitiveness and profitability. Plan and oversee market/competitive research to track trends in customer perceptions, preferences and behaviors. Report marketing insights supported by analytics, logic, and research. Manage vendors, agencies, alliance partners and/or contracted internal business partners in executing of key campaigns or cross-sell programs as appropriate. Develop and implement complex integrated marketing strategies, campaigns and promotions supporting key objectives of assigned channel, product line, segment group or business.   Develop action plans to address performance deficits and specialized needs of sales force. Manage specific steps throughout product development process. Support development of strategic product development planning process and manage assigned action plans. Collaborate with internal business partners and fellow marketing staff to identify and develop new products. Analyze competitor pricing data to gain insights into pricing strategies and tactics. Develop competitive pricing strategies for assigned products to achieve target levels of profitability. Conduct appropriate analysis to measure price elasticity under various business and market scenarios. Build and sustain strong partnerships with analytic groups and other cross-functional teams to manage business strategies. Serve as project lead for various teams and initiatives. Oversee quality assurance audits for each marketing strategy, including validation of data output from internal and external sources, segmentation criteria, and review of marketing materials prior to program/campaign launch. Complete other responsibilities, as assigned.   Increase knowledge of testing and control methods to develop recommendations and design new tests based on results. Work with cross-functional departments, legal, external vendors and campaign teams to develop and execute marketing communication pieces to support key marketing and campaign strategies. Some overnight travel should be required. Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues. Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand. Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators. Regularly required to work on multiple marketing campaigns, promotions and tests simultaneously. Varies by business unit.   Basic Qualifications:  
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Marketing related field, or equivalent experience, advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum of three years proven marketing, direct marketing, or market research/database marketing experience or equivalent: including knowledge of database marketing business practices and procedures; including experience in management or development of marketing support materials of two years financial services marketing or management consulting experience or equivalent strongly preferred
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, project and process management, written and oral communications and quantitative skills and ability to work with analytic models
  • Demonstrated ability to lead activities across cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent mainframe systems and software packages
