Deloitte & Touche's services combine competency and experience in the areas of financial reporting, risk management, and compliance.   Business Risk   The Business Risk ("BR") service area is comprised of professionals that possess competency and experience in the areas of risk management, business and operational processes, internal auditing, financial reporting and other internal controls, and regulatory compliance.  Business risk professionals use these skills to assess, analyze, and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of governance, financial and operational control processes,  offer recommendations to improve operations, and assist clients with enterprise risk and compliance activities.   Deloitte & Touche's dynamic Federal Practice based in Washington D.C. and the surrounding Metropolitan area has opportunities for you to become part of their high-quality team that delivers innovative solutions to key Federal clients in audit and accounting, financial management and business process improvement.   In this role, you will be part of a small team conducting financial statement preparation and analysis for a large federal agency.  Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing proactive solutions and interpreting guidance and policies to provide workable solutions for the client as needed.  Deliverables will include monthly open obligation reviews, diagnostic reporting and supporting field offices in resolution of items, working capital fund analysis, and improving business processes
  • Supporting each cycle of the project (customer interaction, technical delivery, status reporting, and project close out)
  • Support business development activities such as follow-on proposal effort, client delivery that meets client's expectations and providing input to/leading white paper and slide development
  • End client interaction includes daily contact with field personnel and executive management
  • Provide guidance of lower level analysts
  • Support the manager on the project
Basic Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, or related area
  • 3+ year(s) of work experience in Federal accounting, financial audit, internal controls
  • Public accounting or audit experience in a professional services firm preferred
  • Must be eligible to receive a Federal Security Clearance (candidates with an active Federal Security Clearance are preferred).
  • Willingness to travel and flexibility to commute to clients in the DC metro area as needed
  In addition, an ideal candidate will also have:
  • Prior Federal consulting experience in accounting/financial area
  • Audit or A-123 experience preferred
  • CGFM and/or CPA certification
