POSITION SUMMARY


 


To serve as a Business Leader in one of Visa Inc.'s leading regions for mobile (Asia Pacific) as well as Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMEA) - collectively Visa International.  The role holder must blend technical, business and product management skills to deliver results that will have a business impact beyond Asia Pacific / CEMEA regions, contributing to the success of Visa's global mobile initiative (one of four publicly stated priority areas for Visa Inc. post-IPO).  This role focuses specifically on mobile proximity payments and mobile value added services, where "mobile proximity" refers to Visa payWave and Visa Touch contactless functionality delivered on mobile handsets and where "mobile value added services" refers to all types of non-payment Visa services delivered on mobile phones (including mobile advertising, transaction alerts, account information / mobile banking, mobile coupons/loyalty, etc.).


 


JOB SCOPE



  • Product Development Lead. Working with mobile initiative colleagues in San Francisco, provide input to the product development process ensuring Visa International requirements and interests are met. This will including reviewing draft technical specifications and testing these specifications via pilot implementations and providing feedback on any necessary changes.

  • Program and Product Management. Working within Visa International, provide support for coordinating deployment of mobile Visa payWave and value-add pilots and commercial launches - with the associated contribution to Visa's global success in the mobile channel. Given closeness to the first markets worldwide that will commercially launch mobile proximity payments, this role will play an influential part in shaping the global product strategy as well.

  • Execution / Implementation. In markets where in country innovation staff resource is thin, work hand-in-hand with in-country teams to assist with implementation of mobile proximity and value-add projects across Visa International taking shared accountability for the success of in-market implementations and compliance with program rules. As mobile channel products transition to BAU, support training and product implementation with CSS staff.

  • Vendor Interaction. Working with global colleagues in Approval Services and Compliance, liaise with local vendors and vendor regional offices to help component supplies to understand Visa testing and compliance requirements and the transaction of this process to the standards bodies over the next two years.

QUALIFICATIONS


 


Professional




  • Engineering degree preferred - masters advantageous.



  • 8-10 years working experience in smart card and mobile payment arena preferable - background in smart card personalization via remote channels an advantage



  • Minimum 3-5 years experience working within Asia, preferably smart card personalization  and/or mobile services industry



Technical




  • Detailed knowledge of smart card technology



  • Strong capacity to analyze technical specifications



  • Familiarity with networking technology (mobile and internet) and knowledge of mobile handset architectures



  • Understanding of  mobile payment platforms, services, and commercial models



Business




  • Good analytical and organizational skills



  • Solid communication skills - both written and spoken



  • Driven, self-starter
