FRONT-END DEVELOPER Location: New York The Company Algorithmics is the world's leading provider of enterprise risk solutions. Algorithmics is a member of the Fitch Group. The Role As a Front-End Developer, you will be involved in all areas of software development including: - New product development
- Support existing code base
- Test software using server-side and client-side technologies
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues and prepare patches as needed
- Interact with external groups
Qualifications - Very good working knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, XHTML, and the DOM
- Experience using AJAX and client-side libraries such as jQuery, Prototype, and Dojo
- Strong knowledge of web standards, CSS-based design, and cross-browser compatibility
- Practical knowledge of Java, SQL
- Full Lifecycle software development experience
- Experience with Apache Tomcat
- Linux experience is an asset
- Experience with Object Oriented design principles and Agile development techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analysis, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Able to work well both independently, and as a member of a team , in an unstructured, fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities
- Knowledge of finance, banking systems and/or risk management is an asset
