Job Description:

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

 

The Adjustment Specialist is responsible for managing the overall workflow of the Adjustment Department.  These responsibilities include monitoring adjustment work volumes, work assignment to Adjustment Representative, and coordination of Adjustment related activities with other areas within Retail Operations. The position is fluent in all functions performed in the department.  The role is considered the subject matter expert for projects and is expected to lead project initiatives, which includes the development of business solutions, business cases and test plans/script. The Specialist provides administrative support to the supervisor, which includes development of training plan for new associates, completion of management reports, and monitoring associates work to ensure adjustments are performed in accordance to regulatory and T. Rowe Price's policy and procedures.  Like all Specialist roles within the Central Control Group, the Adjustment Specialist is expected to be part of the funds daily pricing rotation.

 

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Leads project initiatives within the immediate department and represents the Adjustment Team on global project initiatives.  As the lead, acts as the subject matter expert and develops department solutions as well as be an active participant in development of business solutions for global projects. Develops business cases, test plans, and test scripts. Executes test scripts and validates results.  Instructs and guides associates through the testing process. Actively participates in projects from inception to implementation.

Develops or updates procedures and trains associates on new processes.

 

Monitors and analyzes daily workflow activities to ensure adjustment request are processed within T. Rowe Price Operations standards.

 

Analyzes, researches, and evaluates required processes to correct shareholder transactions utilizing various recordkeeping systems such as TA2000, TRAC-2000, Foundation

Power, Banner, Pershing, Back Office Automation (BOA), and Retail Check writing systems (RCW). Possesses a thorough understanding of regulatory and business requirements to accurately perform complex adjustment transactions.

 

Performs administrative supporting tasks as assign by supervisor.  Generates management reports, develops training plan and oversight of new associate training.

 

As schedule requires, participates in the fund pricing rotation which requires extended hours.  Coordinates the submission of pricing jobs with Fund Accounting as well as validating fund prices once they have been updated to the recordkeeping system.  If pricing issues occur, invokes problem resolution skills to ensure prices are accurately updated in the recordkeeping system before the nightly batch cycle is released.  Performs other after hour duties that may be assigned. 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Required

- High school diploma/equivalent and 2 years related work experience, or Associate degree and 1 year related work experience, or College degree required

- Thorough understanding and knowledge of regulatory and T. Rowe Price business policies and procedures to accurately perform complex adjustment transactions

- Ability to understand and adjust complex transactions in conjunction with departmental and industry regulations

- Software requirements: general PC navigation and Microsoft Office knowledge, specifically, Excel & Access

- Good verbal and written communications

- Good analytical and decision-making skills

- Ability to give attention to detail and good follow up

- Interpersonal skills and customer service orientation

- Good verbal and written communications

- Ability to work easily in a team environment

- Highly developed time management skills

 

Preferred

- College degree in field of specialty

- Relevant T. Rowe Price experience
