About Legal, Risk and Capital Deutsche Bank is exposed to a wide range of risks every day which can impact its reputation and capital. Legal Risk & Capital (LRC) is recognized as a market leader in the risk management industry to guard against such exposures. LRC manages all aspects of risks, such as credit loss, volatility of market prices, operational failures, liquidity shortages, regulatory and legal matters. All risks are managed from the analysis of counterparty credit risk and the stress-testing of market movements, to the protection of the Bank’s infrastructure and information. The major risks that Deutsche Bank faces are managed by different areas within LRC. These include the Chief Operating Office, Compliance, Corporate Security & Business Continuity, Credit Risk Management, Investment Risk Management, Legal, Operational Risk Management, Market Risk Management, and Treasury & Capital Management. Failure to comply with regulations can cost a bank its business. Compliance’s work of identifying and managing regulatory risks, therefore is critical. Compliance advances lawful and ethical business conduct and prevents and detects violations of law, helping to protect and maintain Deutsche Bank’s integrity and reputation Compliance Officer – Global Transaction Banking and Bank Regulatory Compliance The Deutsche Bank Global Transaction Banking and Bank Regulatory Compliance team provides Compliance advice for the GTB businesses operating in the Americas (Trust & Securities Services, Trade Finance, Cash Management Corporates and Cash Management Financial Institutions) and oversees bank regulatory compliance. Responsibilities • Provide Compliance coverage for the growing GTB businesses, focusing on Trade Finance and Cash Management. Clients include corporations, financial institutions, government bodies and supranational agencies around the world. • Follow regulatory changes that impact the bank regardless of business. Determine the impact and, as required, work with internal Compliance, control, operations and business groups to draft and implement appropriate compliance programs, policies, procedures, processes, forms, etc. • Assist in the on-going maintenance of the bank regulatory compliance program • Work closely with the business during Internal Audits and banking examinations. • Assist the business with the resolution of audit and examination findings. • Conduct formal business and regulatory risk assessments • Provide on-going regulatory advice on permissible activities • Update existing or draft new Compliance policies • Assist with revising business procedures • Conduct compliance training • Provide guidance and on-going support for the compliance internal compliance testing team • Test compliance with policies and procedures • Review marketing materials • Assist with Bank Regulatory Compliance with on-going responsibilities for: o FRA 23A, 23B and Regulation W o Permissible equity investments Position Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree (JD preferred) • Minimum of 10 years relevant work experience in the financial industry or in a bank regulatory agency • Demonstrated knowledge of bank regulations and their application to a compliance program (e.g., via policies, procedures, training) • The ability to read, understand and apply complex banking regulations to the business. • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills • The ability to project confidence, professionalism and respect in all dealings with business and other managers and staff • Experience with prioritizing among conflicting tasks, and with managing multiple ongoing projects, assignments and tasks, all with a minimum of supervision • Commitment to identifying compliance solutions that meet business needs while ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures |
