Job Description:

We currently have a career opportunity in our Surplus Lines area for an Associate Director in the Glenview, IL office.

Position Summary: Responsible for ensuring that Aon Client Services and Brokerage are in compliance with all state laws regarding the placement of Surplus Lines Insurance, including the accurate and timely filing of taxes and payment of fees. Reports to the Director,  Surplus Lines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Interacts with CSU, Preminum Accounting Service Clients, Brokerage, National Compliance, and Brokerage Regulations and -Licensing on high-level or sensitive surplus lines regulatory issues.
-Coordinates work activities within the framework of established customer service policies and procedures; manages the daily operations of the group, including the responsibility for work in the queue.
-Schedules and organizes personnel to accommodate workflow; distributes work assignments to specialists based on specific levels of expertise.
-Addresses unusual or difficult inquiries/situations through direct personal action or refers to the appropriate individuals; researches complex issues and handles their resolution.
-Provides quality control on all SL documents/filings, including auditing all filings and reports.-Ensures all surplus lines filings and payments are made accurately and timely.
-Manages department staff; Makes employment decisions, evaluates and rewards staff performance, recommends training and development opportunities, and conducts disciplinary activities as necessary.
-Trains and mentors all Surplus Lines personnel as needed.

Required Skills and Experience:
-BS/BA degree preferred.
-Extensive knowledge of and experience in the insurance industry.

- Must have prior management experience. 

- Experience with Surplus lines a plus
-Must attain and maintain appropriate insurance license(s).
-Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various employee levels.
-Demonstrated excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
-Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
-Knowledge of surplus lines tax laws and regulatory requirements.
-Ability to maintain effective relationships with internal and external auditors, regulatory agencies, correspondent banks, and others.
-Proven effective supervisory and leadership skills in being flexible, creative, team-oriented and process driven.
-Ability to organize

Ability to follow through for resolution

Ability to respond quickly and accurately for State Regulatory issues

Ability to manage staff to identify and analyze organizational needs with solid problem-solving abilities.
