Job Description:

* Work closely with GE Corporate and GE Energy Customs Compliance to drive usage of preferred customs broker(s) and manage their performance.
* Develop standard processes & procedures for imports & exports, local domestic logistics, international shipment operation from or into India with understanding of CTQ requirements of the GE Energy businesses.
* Coordinate closely all activities & actions with all Logistics Center of Excellence teams such as Global Logistics Operations, Customs Compliance, Logistics Sourcing, and local on-site logistics coordinators and Project Logistics Managers and Coordinators.
* Support Commercial Operations, PPS and Logistics teams during Inquiry-to-Order phase of bid preparation and contract negotiations as necessary.
* Provide consulting and risk assessment on deal structure consulting to GE Energy Sales and Project management teams (Inquiry-To-Order and Order-To-Remittance phases) for projects in the region. Support Customer Performance Managers, Project Managers, Site Managers in logistics and customs related matters with guidance and expertise.
* Analyze transportation market in the region, identify logistics service providers for transportation, warehousing, handling, stevedoring and other required logistics services and work closely with Logistics Sourcing leaders to drive approval & supplier qualifications as needed. Participate in developing service and geography coverage strategy Qualifications/Requirements * 10+ Years of relevant experience in customs and logistics.
* University degree in logistics, finance, engineering or related disciplines.
* Profound knowledge in local customs regulations and transportation markets.
* Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to build business relationships at all levels.
* Ability to effectively liaise with GE colleagues, logistics service providers, customers, and authorities at all levels.
* Clear decision making ability, strong organizational skills and proven multitasking experience.
* Ability to maintain focus in environment subject to constant change and pressure.
* Fluent in English
* Excellent computer user skills (MS Office, e-mail, Internet). Desired Characteristics * 3rd Party logistics experience or customs brokerage experience.
* Power generation industry experience.
* Green Belt or Black Belt Certification (applicable for GE employees only).
* Knowledge of GE Energy Businesses (applicable for GE employees only)
