OBJECTIVES & VALUES: As an Associate Analyst, within our Healthcare Business Unit you are expected to contribute fully to the Datamonitor corporate objectives and the objectives of the Healthcare Business Unit.  Above all, you are to achieve the personal objectives outlined. It is your responsibility to ensure you are aware of the current year’s objectives for each of the above.  If you have any doubt as to the content or meaning of your objectives you should contact your line manager or Human Resources. All tasks that you undertake on behalf of Datamonitor will be guided by our corporate values. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Synthesis of Primary and Secondary Research: Develop a structured and logical approach to data collection, including the identification of new data sources. Design, conduct and evaluate both primary and secondary research into the market, including providers and customers in order to collect quality data. Understanding of corporate strategies: Analyze the strategies of prescription pharmaceutical companies and discuss the implications for their sales and financial performance. Understanding of market dynamics: Analyze wider market conditions to develop an understanding of the industry dynamics. Identify the critical success factors within the market and forecast the direction of the market. Production of Analysis Pieces: Produce logical, structured, well thought-out analysis, which enables robust conclusions to be drawn. Use an appropriate combination of text, graphics and schematics to communicate findings in a clear and concise manner to the audience. Monitor assigned companies to ensure analysis and the associated data are kept up to date. Produce analysis pieces to time: Prioritize workload and manage time effectively to produce quality pieces of writing to time deadlines. Take responsibility to deliver product on time. Developing analysis skills: It is your responsibility, supported by your line manager to follow the two-year Analyst Roadmap development scheme, obtaining the necessary milestones to progress to the role of “Analyst”. Client Management: Field clients’ and journalists’ queries on reports you have authored, and support Sales visits where appropriate. SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Ability to collect quality research.
  • Ability to interpret and integrate data and information to develop a clear, logical and conclusive story.
  • Strong written, verbal and graphical skills.
  • Ability to critically evaluate own and others’ work in a constructive manner.
  • Ability to manage own time and workload effectively.
  • Familiarity with MS Office applications, especially with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
