Job Description Datamonitor’s Financial Markets business unit is division of The Datamonitor Group that works with buy-side analysts and portfolio managers in order to help them make better investment decisions, faster. Our research helps in idea generation, data gathering, background research, analysis and forecasting, and thesis validation. We are expanding our sales team to effectively leverage our Energy & Sustainability research and analytics. We are seeking an Institutional Research Salesperson, focusing on the upstream oil and gas, sustainable technology, and utilities sector to join a dynamic team and immediately contribute to the bottom line. The salesperson will be responsible for all aspects of the sales cycle from cold-call to account management, as well as working closely with the Global Commercial Director to develop sales/marketing strategy, product development, and ultimately creating a unique value proposition positioning Datamonitor’s Energy & Sustainability research as a must-have service for the buy-side. An ideal candidate will have superb sales skills, familiarity with the energy & sustainability market, and a deep understanding of the financial markets. The job is located in our New York City, U.S. headquarters. Skills / Profile
  • Mandatory 3-5+ years experience selling subscription based research and/or databases into financial institutions
  • Track record of developing new accounts as well as servicing current clients
  • Mandatory familiarity with the financial markets
  • Buy-side book of business and contacts a plus
  • Familiarity with the upstream oil & gas, sustainable technologies, and/or utilities markets
  • Comfortable communicating complex topics and investment theses with high level investors and turning those conversations into subscription business
  • Hunter mentality, comfortable with making 50+ cold calls per day
  • Travel to U.S. investment hubs required
