The Role This role is about combining your inquisitive mind with your commercial skills to provide meaningful insight, eliminating surprises and mitigating risk for Financial Services clients. Working in a team environment you’ll help to produce reports looking specifically at the pensions and investment markets. We are seeking an analytical problem solver who is able to make recommendations not just regurgitate others opinions. You should be a strong writer and a confident presenter with an analytical mind set and a genuine interest in Financial Services. You should have a background in research or journalism, with both quantitative and qualitative experience gained in an academic or financial services industry environment. This role will offer you significant responsibility and the opportunity to build deep industry knowledge and gain recognition as an industry expert. It will allow you to develop your analysis skills as well as offering significant opportunities to support client development and relationship building. You’ll be responsible for tasks as diverse as interviewing leading industry figures, conducting in-depth secondary research, structuring and writing insightful analysis and building market models. You might find yourself visiting clients with our sales team to promote your research, conducting interviews for newspapers, radio and television and helping to design marketing materials for our reports. The Candidate The successful applicant will have: • A minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent in any discipline; • Relevant sector experience is preferable but not essential; • Demonstrate an interest in the financial services sector; • Excellent written English and strong communication skills; • Strong numerical ability; • Proven research and writing skills; • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; • The ability to work independently; • Ambition, drive and enthusiasm.
