Application Delivery Manager Responsibilities:

 

HFS Technology has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Application Delivery Manager to join our Greenwich based team. The candidate would be responsible/accountable for the design and delivery of development work-streams and projects across mostly Windows and .Net technologies,  whilst owning and helping standardize the overall HFS technical architecture and progress towards newer technologies and leveragable technology components and utilities used within the wider WSS or JPM organization.  This will include supporting both the short-term business-driven growth and efficiency agendas, as well as the drive towards and the integration of the HFS business and platform into the wider WSS Fund Services and Union business architectures.  The technology group supports the HFS business worldwide and are located in Greenwich, Dallas, Dublin, Mumbai and Bangalore.

 

The successful candidate will be a demonstrated leader with a proactive, hands-on management approach and strong technology skills.  They should experience of working within a systems development and operational environment, with a proven track record around technology delivery.  The candidate must have a good understanding of financial and hedge-fund-traded products and lifecycle events.


  • Directly manager the team of developers, both on and offshore,  providing both technical and career management and leadership whilst helping create a high-performing and high-achieving environment across direct and matrixed teams

  • Work closely with HFS Technology and Business management, validating, planning and executing on projects and priorities that support the business growth strategy

  • Forecast, manage and monitor the Technology financials and resources across various development projects and workstreams, working closely with partnering groups like Program Mgmt, QA and Production Support

  • Directly manage specific projects for the HFS technology group, working closely with the different teams and partners (PM, BA, Developers, QA, Prod Support etc) to deliver to spec and plan

  • Gain full understanding of the Union platform and how HFS architecture and business agenda maps into it

  • Ensure compliance with WSS and HFS development and risk controls and governance






 

  • At least 10 years of Technology experience within the financial industry, with a background in the various stages of the development and delivery life cycle, as well as hands-on management of technology and project teams


    • Experience in managing and delivering multiple development projects and work-streams within in a large scale and cross-functional Technology environment

    • Experience managing a team of developers, onshore and offshore, and working within a cross-functional technology model  (i.e. Plan, Build, Test, Operate)



  • 10 years of experience in the design and development of complex multi threaded software systems in Windows and .Net environment (C/C /C#, .Net, T-SQL, SQL Server)


o   Thorough understanding of software engineering processes and best practices, experience with Database Design and Object Relational Mapping Design and Implementation needed, along with real-time and near-real-time data handling and enterprise caching architectures.  Design Patterns Experience is a plus

o   Expertise in Web Services, SOAP and WCF, SQL Scripting, T-SQL, Stored Procedures, complex queries, triggers is required,  experience with MS-MQ and with scripting languages a plus (Perl, Shell)


  • Extensive knowledge and experience of financial products as traded and processed by Hedge Funds, including exchange-traded and OTC derivatives, and/or experience in fund management and administration processing

  • Extensive experience and understanding of a complex operating environment including full life cycle of the trade process (trade capture, accounting, settlement, risk and financial reporting)

  • Strong analytical problem solver with excellent written and verbal communications skills, with a proven track record of technology delivery and being able to take initiative to drive and own change


·         Self-motivated, attention to detail, proactive and willing to absorb new concepts, work experience within a risk- controlled operational and business-process environment

·         BS degree in Computer Science preferred
