SUMMARY      

The primary responsibility of the Marketing Program Manager−Sales role is to manage end-to-end strategy, development and delivery of marketing programs for the firm's Institutional (core, large and mega-size retirement plans) and Emerging Market (small plans) sales teams.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1.      Set strategy for the development of marketing programs that grow Retirement Plan Services' brand in the marketplace and generate new business leads for the sales teams. Oversee delivery of marketing efforts that include prospect communications, print and electronic materials, tools and other resources essential to the sales teams. Utilize internal resources (writers, designers, project managements), as appropriate. Also, fulfill project manager and writer roles for specific initiatives, as needed. Establish and manage budgets for each initiative. Develop and implement methods to measure effectiveness of all marketing programs and monitor, report and make recommendations based on those results. Analyze and interpret industry trends, competitive activity and new products/opportunities relative to RPS. (60%)%3CBR/>



2.      Communicate regularly by phone, e-mail, in-person and in writing with sales management and sales staff to understand their objectives and recommend the marketing strategies that support the teams' sales goals and specific audience needs. (25%)%3CBR/>



3.      Approve all marketing materials and ensure that communications messages and materials are on strategy, meet brand and style guidelines and are compliant from legal and broker/dealer perspectives.  (15%)%3C/DIV>

Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. 

 

Minimum of five years marketing experience, with an emphasis on sales strategy and program management. Business-to-business marketing strategy, planning and delivery experience also preferred.

 

Excellent verbal, presentation and written communications skills required

 

Experience in or demonstrated understanding of retirement plans and the financial industry preferred.

 

For internal candidates, six months' employment in current position and one year in current department is preferred.
