| Job Description: |
- Install our corporate standard build, configure our OS, install and test software running on the machines, for eg. Websphere, Webportal, overnight scheduler etc
- Provide hands on 2nd level UNIX OS support and manages 3rd level support
- Engage in testing of cross-functional systems to ensure that functionality meets requirements and addresses client issues
- Coordinate and manages issue resolution and recovery activities including root-cause analysis, documentation, and training
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with other people from different organizations
- Provides design recommendations, research, develop, and integrates technologies per written specifications using best practices, ensuring compliance with IT policies, standards and guidelines
- Translates business and technical requirements into technical specifications
- Partners with peers across team to leverage products and processes across engineering disciplines
- Provides subject matter expertise in the development and/or production of large scale, complex distributed and/or midrange database environments.
- Works with the IT Architects and senior Application Developers on database design
- Build and configure Websphere and Webportal environments for application teams.
- Fine tune Webpsphere and Webportal configuration for performance tuning
- Develops and executes database implementation and upgrade/patch plan
- Creates database objects and DBMS management processes
- Performs database performance monitoring and analysis to fully optimize the database and application SQL
- Produces technical documentation related to databases
- Troubleshoots complex problems
- Participates in Business Continuity Plan tests for the IM business
- 3-5 years of experience with Websphere and Webportal on installation and configuration.
- 3-5 years of distributed computing engineering experience in complex, mid to large-scale environments in UNIX platforms (mainly Sun Solaris on Sun Micro and Fujitsu platforms, AIX on IBM pSeries and Linux)
- 3-5 years of IT work experience which includes 1-2 years experience with database management systems. Essential Oracle, Sybase, desirable Ingres, MySQL
- Knowledge on other products and platforms would be an added advantage, e.g. Oracle Financials.
- Degree in a technology related discipline
- Independent and good interpersonal skill
- Good communication skill on both written and spoken in English, Putonghua would be added advantage
