Responsibilities

This position ensures all legal documents related to liens and levies are processed according to state and federal laws, creates and maintains appropriate legal documents and coordinates legal activities with involved parties. In addition, this role serves as a key contact for involved parties in communicating status updates and other issues regarding legal documents and also proposing and initiating process improvements.

¿ Complete processing of all legal documents received by the company, such as subpoenas, bankruptcies, garnishment papers, tax levies, summons, support orders and information requests. All processing must be accomplished in accordance with state and federal laws/regulations and in compliance with company procedures. Recordkeeping must be maintained with utmost accuracy.
¿ Develop and maintain appropriate legal response document templates, ensuring satisfaction with judicial requests while complying with internal corporate and legal policies.
¿ Handle and maintain all company-received legal bankruptcy documents, responding to the courts within required timeframes and ensuring utmost accuracy in completed documentation.
¿ Coordinate legal activities related to court-generated requests with appropriate levels of corporate office employees, field personnel, courts and agencies to ensure compliance of legal requirements while ensuring confidential nature of information.
¿ Ensure all questions and escalated service issues related to judicial requests are addressed in a professional, confidential, and timely manner.
¿ Propose and initiate process improvements to streamline recordkeeping and ensure efficient compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

- Strong problem solving skills; organizational and time management skills including ability to meet tight deadlines with high degree of accuracy.
- Prior experience in reviewing and interpreting legal documents is required; experience articulating legal requirements preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are required; demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality/control of information.
- Previous experience working as a legal assistant or paralegal, closely with courts and attorneys is preferred.
- Possess a detail orientation; must be effective at working independently and part of a team, when required.
- Strong Microsoft Access and Excel skills required for data analysis, macro processing and reporting needs.
- Phone queue or Call Ring experience preferred.
