PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The primary objective of the Portfolio Modeling Group is to leverage the Portfolio Managers' time by handling the investment and organizational challenges that arise from managing many accounts in one investment strategy.

 

The Portfolio Implementation Manager uses their knowledge of the portfolio investment strategy and unique client requirements to oversee each account's investment activities.  The incumbent handles account customization, interprets account guidelines, resolves compliance issues and oversees the performance composites. 

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Manage portfolios in a strategy replicating other actively managed accounts by making cash management and trading decisions.  Investment decisions are made to increase the portfolio's likelihood of tracking its benchmark.




  2. Support new account take-on process by serving as subject matter expert on investment related issues and working with the portfolio manager, sales and client service, operations, and compliance to understand client needs and to make recommendations for solutions that satisfy the various constraints.





  3. Assume primary responsibility for knowledge of each account's unique requirements and the investment customizations used.  This includes sign-off on investment guidelines during both new account negotiation and existing client periodic reviews.




QUALIFICATIONS

Required:



  • Minimum college degree and 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Advanced degree. Knowledge of investments, portfolios, and stock trading beneficial.

  • Strong analytic skills and the ability to solve problems. History of using thoughtful, sound judgment.

  • Ability to analyze a variety of information, to quickly draw relevant conclusions, and to summarize and communicate results effectively. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team.

  • Able to determine priorities, plan, organize and follow-through on assignments.

  • Open-minded, logical, determined, and highly ethical along with creativity, intellectual curiosity, and strong analytical skills.



Preferred:



  • Advanced degree and/or CFA charterholder or candidate
