Job Description:

The Engineering Program Manager position leads and executes product programs with cross-functional team leaders and individuals to meet customer requirements for product quality, cost, to ensure that new product development is done on-time, to right quality and cost.The position drives clarity by defining and prioritizing the program objectives, critical success factors and deliverables for the team.

This position shall also have functional responsibilities to lead EE and ME engineers working for the corresponding NPI(s).

Duties include (but are not limited to):
· Driving product planning and multi-generational product/platform roadmap execution
· Working with the Business Team and program leadership team to deliver quality products on time, within budget and with competitive features
· Cross-functional project execution leadership including (but not limited to) concept discussion, program execution, clinical and pilot trials, and product field delivery
· Functional leadership of the team, including recruitment, team/talent development, skill set improvement, and mentoring
· Resource assignment and prioritization, including headcount and base cost budget
· Instilling a rigorous approach to target costing for new products and driving cost out of existing products
· Leading change through creative solutions to unstructured product and system design issues
· Optimizing team’s participation in all phases of product development
· Supporting existing products within Manufacturing, Sourcing, Service and Supplier Quality Engineering
· Working with customers to solicit product feedback and leading cross-functional teams to drive customer support

Quality Specific Goals:
1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
4. Ensure compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before approving Design Control FDRs and NPI program milestones
5. Lead continuous improvement activities by driving the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives Qualifications/Requirements 1. Bachelors Degree within appropriate Engineering/Science discipline
2. 15+ yrs of overall design and development experience, with atleast 5+ years experience in project/program leadership within a R&D environment. 2+ yrs of people leadership experience preferred.
3. Demonstrated execution at meeting project goals while satisfying quality, performance, schedule, and budget CTQ’s
4. Demonstrated experience driving variable cost productivity (VCP) and Inventory Carrying Value (ICV) reduction to enable optimized product margins
5. Demonstrated engineering knowledge, program management, and business planning processes, having experience with the full product lifecycle
6. Familiarity with ISO, FDA and other regulatory standards Desired Characteristics 1. Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent (defined as 15 years progressive experience within engineering, science, or related field, including 8 years project leadership experience within manufacturing, development, or research development)
2. Proven ability to work cross-functionally
3. Sound technical and domain experience in Electrical, Mechanical or Systems Engineering
4. Demonstrated experience on global product releases throughout the entire NPI cycle
5. Strong written and oral communication skills
6. Demonstrated people management skills.Proven mentoring and coaching abilities; demonstrated ability to motivate & inspire others
7. Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task
8. Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation
