To cover the various legal aspects this team and the wider Life Insurance business deals with, we are looking for a Business Counsel (Senior Legal Advisor) Key responsibilities include: • Coordinating and providing legal guidance in various projects, including product development and related control frameworks (the "Legal conscience of Life Insurance") • Advising the internal life insurance business from a legal perspective • Establishing and maintaining a network of external legal advisors in foreign jurisdictions • Establishing a regulatory/legal risk framework to help the team avoid image damage and actively managing that risk • Acting as corporate secretary for UBS' own life insurance companies • Dealing with individual client cases from a legal perspective • Ensuring ongoing regulatory & legal compliance of life insurance products in an international context Requirements The successful applicant will have the following qualifications and skills: • Law degree • 10 years of relevant work experience (cross-border life insurance, banking a plus) • Excellent English language skills (both written and verbal), Italian/German/French a plus • Good legal & business judgement, strong risk awareness and excellent analytical skills; must be very flexible to take on new challenging tasks and willing to learn continuously • Good communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with people from different segments of UBS, in different locations, at various levels • "Getting things done" approach: driven, professional and pro-active "hands-on" team player with a high resilience level without sacrificing precision and accuracy Our Offering UBS can offer you an environment geared towards performance, attractive career opportunities, and an open corporate culture that values and rewards the contribution of every individual.
