Job Description:

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Promote the distribution of TRPIS/TRPA investment management and related mutual funds through third party intermediaries, primarily broker/dealers, banks, and their respective sales organization.  Primary responsibility is to provide investment-related reviews and sales ideas, positioning of investment strategies within both client firm financial advisor book of business, thematic investment and value-add content with targeted firms' distribution personnel and directly to Financial Advisor audiences via external and internal meetings and broker/dealer events to increase product share and build TRP awareness.

 

 

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Proactive Sales Support - Provide compelling presentations and investment reviews to varying audiences consisting of: financial advisors and their respective support staff, home office employed sales and distribution gatekeepers, external and internal investment sales and sales management contacts. Audience size may vary from one-on-one interactions to groups of over 100 advisors or sales professionals, involving investment training, sales promotions, or other advisor education materials.  Position provides these services to the department's targeted accounts and contacts. Travels independently in most situations, and must document all client interactions in CRM system. 

  • Relationship Management - maximize relationships with assigned client's key distribution gatekeepers and targeted financial advisors.  Support client contacts with investment-related content, sales ideas and materials to optimize both TRP and client value to Financial Advisors and retail clients.  Travel both independently and with client distribution gatekeepers to top financial advisor branches and/or individual teams to promote TRP offerings and support client home office and TRP account management initiatives.  Maintain all contact information in CRM system, utilizing intelligible notes to communicate client trends.  For sales support and relationship management, Advisor Services Consultant independently constructs travel schedule to meet broad channel and team requirements and various client objectives.  Incumbents typically spend 2-3 nights per week on the road, periodically entertaining clients; consequently, the Advisor Services Consultant must be prudent in choosing the entertainment venue and conduct social events in a highly professional manner. 

  • Provide TPD marketing and investment information group with concrete ideas for creation of materials and campaigns to better align with our client's themes, focus and needs. Provides input to Account Managers, Account Coordinators, Inside Sales & Service and Director of Sales/Advisor Service in order to maximize impact to the overall TRP client relationship.  Provide input to formulate and refine client service requirements and overall budgets, as a direct result of intelligence gained from key distribution gatekeepers at our respective client firms. Mentor internal sales and service associates in order to better service the overall relationship.  Keeps other Advisor Service Consultants and Manager abreast of any developing needs, information and opportunities that could affect the team or individual effectiveness in their role. Modifies investment review presentations when necessary - works with marketing and client firms to ensure complex compliance requirements are me.  Stays abreast of mutual fund and sub-advised policies to provide timely client service.

  • Enhanced understanding of the TRP investment strategies and investment vehicles used by client firms, with the ability to consistently increase and enhance one's knowledge base of these and other products.  Understanding of targeted client firms' organizational structure, product platforms, and current events which may be utilized to enhance our client service offer.



QUALIFICATIONS

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree


  • 5-10 years  or more of experience within the financial services industry




  • Thorough knowledge of advisory and investment subjects





  • Series 7 and Series 63 licensed





  • Advanced sales, service, and relationship management skills





  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills





  • Outstanding presentation and public speaking skills





  • Self-directed and ability to travel extensively





  • Thorough knowledge of the investment process and TRP products





  • TPD Training modules





  • Prior experience with financial intermediary sales and/or broker/dealer sales exposure




 

Preferred:


  • External sales or client management experience in industry


  • Working knowledge of Broker/Dealer firms and  Advisor product platforms


  • CIMA or MBA
