Job Description:

  Senior Business Analyst - Compliance   Toronto, Canada     The Company   Algorithmics is the world's leading provider of enterprise risk solutions. Algorithmics is a member of the Fitch Group.     The Role   The Senior Business Analyst will primarily analyze existing business processes, develop and lead the implementation of new processes and applications as they relate to Data Security and Compliance.   The position may also require you to assist with standard IT Project Lifecycle activities.   Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):  
  • Interact closely with business owners at all levels of the organization to understand existing processes and policies and to identify compliance/security gaps
  • Lead and manage data security and compliance initiatives
  • Develop, document and manage the implementation of new processes, policies and procedures to support data security and compliance across the organization
  • Propose new technology and application solutions to support processes
  • Prepare and present presentations to stakeholders
  • Lead meetings with stakeholders and influence process and work behaviour change
  • Be a subject matter expert and motivator, lead user education seminars to influence change
  • Engage customers to gather requirements for new processes, and new applications to support processes.   Document utilizing Use Case modeling
  • Analyze and translate business requirements and functional designs into technical specifications
  • Elaborate process and application solutions, analyze their impacts and make recommendations
  • Take ownership of communication to stakeholders and organizational leaders with respect to status of progress, priorities, timelines and issues
  • Analyze and translate business requirements and functional designs into technical specifications
  • Develop test scripts and participate in QA and user acceptance testing for new and legacy applications, as required
  • Validate data and new functionality meets requirements, as required
  • Become an integral part of the Change Management Process for new process development and new application development by utilizing IT Best Practices
  • Develop, document and deliver end-user training on newly created processes, applications and/or newly created functionality in legacy applications
  • Educate and train stakeholders and users on processes, policies, procedures, work instructions and supporting applications
  • Document processes, policies, procedures and work instructions using defined template guidelines
  • Create necessary support documentation for applications
  • Propose and perform audits and compliance checks of operational processes
  • Provide first and second-level support for custom applications
        Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Information Technology, Business/Process Management, Computer Science (or other similar program), and 3-5 years of related Business Analyst experience
  • Experience in developing processes and policies to meet compliance and data security requirements/audits
  • Strong process analysis and process creation skills
  • Strong documentation skills, specifically writing Process, Policy and Procedure Documents, Business Requirement Documents and Technical Specifications
  • Strong investigation and problem solving skills
  • Strong project management and leadership skills
  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision, ability to conceptualize and think creatively, critical thinking ability, excellent interpersonal and communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills and good facilitation and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with Compliance and Data Security principles is a plus
  • Familiarity with ISO27001 and/or SAS70 audit concepts is a plus
