Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant to join our team. You will have extensive experience of interconnect cost calculations and be familiar with fixed and mobile network costing concepts (ideally, you will have experience of both bottom up and top down models). Excellent proficiency in one of these model types is essential. Long run incremental costing and wholesale cost based pricing knowledge is expected along with experience of working on interconnection issues from working for either/or an operator or regulators, but ideally gained from working with a consulting firm. The range of experience expected is most likely to come from candidates with a consulting background. Although candidates should have some consulting experience, excellent experience in interconnect issues may be sufficient for the right applicant. The successful candidate should have wider interests and is expected to be willing to expand into new areas such as next generation network costing and retail price controls or price squeeze analysis. To complete the picture, you will be looking for an exciting career in telecoms consulting and have a desire to move into positions with exciting challenges and more responsibilities. Skills & Experience Commerical telecoms industry experience; along with good academic credentials, probably from an economics, engineering, science, accounting or technology background. Strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving and communication skills are vital. The ability to present and discuss complex problems with senior management is essential. You must have first class analytical skills. Knowledge of general regulatory economics and policy is desirable. Fluency in a European language (French preferably) is desirable but not essential.
