E*TRADE is made up of some of the brightest and most talented people in the industry - are you ready to join the industry leader?Detailed Description t('5')The Network Engineer is responsible for contributing network hardware support and design expertise to the centralized market data distribution environment. · Provide escalated network support in a high availability, 7x24x365 environment. · Work with vendors to configure and support recommended configurations, hardware, and protocols. · Collaborate with network engineering team to ensure consistency and compliance with standards. Meet on a regular basis with network engineering and operations staff to share knowledge and foster cohesion.· Provide training, monitoring tools, and documentation for turnover to operational staff. · Research new technologies and services as they apply to the market data infrastructure. Participate in product evaluations and provide technical recommendations.· Evaluate capacity planning requirements as they pertain to networks and protocols. · Engineer functional designs for new projects and initiatives and present assessments to upper-level management across multiple technical organizations. Job Requirements t('5')· 7+years hands-on experience with enterprise-level routers, switches, andfirewalls in a redundant environment. · Knowledgeand experience with multiple network vendors. Extensive experience designing and configuring all types of Juniper, Cisco, andVoltaire hardware and IOS.· Experiencedesigning WAN environments based on both public and private carrier solutions,such as Frame Relay, point-to-point, T1, DS3, OC3, OC12, OC192, MPLS, VPLS, 10GigE, Infiniband, and encrypted tunnels over public networks. · Strongknowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP. · Strongknowledge of routing protocols such RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP. · Experiencewith UDP/IP and multicast data technologies such as IGMP, MSDP, PIM SM and DM, RP, BIDIR PIM· Knowledge of financial feeds and protocols, ie. FIX, OUCH, ITCHalong with Market Data Vendors (MDVs) and ECNs. Experience providing networkconnectivity to various ECNs and or MDVs . · Experiencewith monitoring tools. · Experiencewith projects involving environment scalability and capacity planning. · Experiencewith hardware and software evaluations. · Experiencemaking high-level presentations is a plus.
