ROLE SUMMARY
Market Risk Information (MRI) Analyst
Market Risk data sourcing and Development: Coordinate all needed development, initiate required sign-offs and ensure that MRI Projects are run smoothly from start to finish.

THE ROLE INVOLVES
- part of the Market Risk Information Team within the Risk Analytics & Reporting Department of CRO.
- The primary focus of the role involves coordinating and ensuring delivery on global feed requirements. This will include data validation, analysis, specification, design and implementation of market risk and default risk in daily market risk feeds.  This role’s main focus is to validate and test data used for VaR and Incremental Risk Charge model implementation. 
- Coordinate or test with view to sign off of test trades for initiatives
- Have an open communication with the client, communicate status of project and raise and share issues when appropriate during new business meetings.
- Develop a network of peers from whom information can be leveraged for new initiatives.
- Understand the Feed Change and requirement project lifecycle. Engage all stakeholders from the onset to ensure that all issues/challenges/changes are understood early on in the New Business process, helping to remediate any foreseen issues and to manage expectations. 
- The key elements of these projects include planning, assessment of completeness and accuracy of the data, specification of data feeds, processing and testing the default risk model outputs.
- utilise experience doing project management across various teams
- The role involves understanding the various processes to generate the risk numbers retrieved by various market risk feeds.  This will involve validation of the data used to derive market risk exposures.
- This role will work closely with Market Risk analysts, Risk IT, FO IT and counterparts in Singapore, NY and India. It will involve dealing with more senior counterparts in Risk Measurement and Management as well as in other departments across the bank, particularly FO IT.

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) division comprises 4 key functional areas – Strategic Market Risk, Credit
Risk Management, Bank Operational Risk Oversight and Risk Analytics and Reporting (RAR). These
functions provide high-quality, cost-effective risk management services to support the operating
divisions, while improving independent controls.

RAR is globally led by Mark Wallace and reports to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO); the function is located across all major locations and is responsible for:
(1) market and credit risk information management & market risk reporting;
(2) credit risk measurement & independent risk model validation;
(3) credit risk reporting;
(4) managing development and implementation of risk systems; and
(5) Regulatory change and coordination, establishing policies covering market risk, credit risk and
operational risk.

Risk Information & Reporting has the responsibility of risk information collation and management for both market and credit risk data, Market Risk Reporting and supporting the Strategic Risk Management department.

TO QUALIFY YOU MUST POSSESS
- Required to have and use a good understanding of market risk concepts and methodologies and how these are captured for market risk reporting purposes
- Moderate experience in Market or Credit Risk, Product Control function in a Global Investment Bank
- Involvement in the application of VAR methodologies, calculations & reporting
- Credit Risk quantitative experience & exposure calculation specialist is an advantage
- Market or Credit risk engineering & risk systems background is an advantage
- Knowledge of financial products, financial markets and risk drivers
- In depth knowledge of financial products, financial markets and risk drivers
- Highly numerate and strong analytical skills
- Strong spreadsheet skills
- Detailed understanding of market & credit risk methodologies, VAR, ERC, Country Risk, Potential Exposure etc.
- Experienced at Project Management
- Exposure to systems implementation, process re-engineering and systems development life cycle is highly desirable.
- IT Skill/programming languages/software: SQL, some VBA knowledge, database skills is an added advantage
- Must be able to deal with a lot of information and data methodically and accurately.
- Must be able to work to tight deadlines and prioritise several conflicting demands.
