JOB INFORMATION



Operate with considerable latitude in performing highly complex duties related to researching, drafting, and reviewing accounting policy and supporting systems related to several areas or one complex area of accounting activity. Coordinate with and respond to consultants, auditors, and other stakeholders. Contribute to special projects. May operate in a lead role within the team. Train staff.



KEY JOB FUNCTIONS




  • Map laws and regulations to the firm's policies, policies to procedures, and procedures to controls to ensure transparency for investors and regulators.

  • Document processes, develop corresponding narratives and risk control matrices, test operating effectiveness, perform remediation as needed, and monitor overall compliance.

  • Prepare and review SEC and other external reporting relating to assigned areas. Ensure accuracy and completeness. Respond to comments.

  • Write business requirements for new systems, provide accounting direction on systems development, and prepare and participate in testing.

  • Review accounting entries to ensure alignment of operational results and supporting documentation.

  • Design and produce reports.

  • Conduct research and analyses.

  • Deliver presentations.

  • May perform highly complex projects or participate as a team member on projects at the highest level of technical complexity.

EDUCATION



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE



  • 4-6 years of related experience


SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS




  • CPA required.



  • 5-7 years of public accounting experience preferred.



  • Experience in the interpretation of SFAS 91, SFAS 115, SFAS 131 and SFAS 133.



  • Experience with applying GAAP to financial transactions.
