The Legal and Compliance Department of JPMorgan Chase & Co is responsible for the provision of legal and compliance services to the Corporation.  The department also includes the Office of the Secretary.

 

Legal and Compliance is organized by Practice Groups that conform to the organization of the Firm's lines of business (LOBs) and corporate staff areas, allowing  the legal and compliance staff to work closely with specific groups on a daily basis. Each line of business has an LOB General Counsel, who is the Practice Group Head and who reports to the Firm's General Counsel. This structure provides the means for the legal and compliance teams to communicate legal and regulatory changes to the businesses and staff areas, and for the LOBs and staff areas to communicate business developments that have legal or regulatory implications to the legal and compliance teams in a timely manner.


 

As a Sr. Administrative Assistant supporting the legal department for Home Lending, the selected candidate will perform diverse administrative functions requiring confidentiality, initiative and sound decision-making.  Responsible for filing and preparing pleadings, under attorney supervision. Coordinating meetings, preparing presentation materials, via Power Point. Submitting expenses and reviewing incoming correspondence.  Candidate may provide direction and guidance to less experienced team members. 



  • Skills include EXCELLENT accurate typing and proofreading




  • Good PC skills (basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint; ability to edit/redline documents in MS Word)




  • Knowledge of general office procedures (e.g., filing, correspondence, scheduling)




  • Good oral and written communication skills




  • Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in confidential situations




  • Processes and applies specific knowledge to more difficult work assignments.  




  •  2 years of secretarial experience including preparing contractual and legal correspondence
