Job Description:

Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR) provides "best in class" reporting to both our internal and external clients. Best in class reporting would include informative, accurate, reliable and timely financial information that can be used by management to make sound financial decisions; for analysts to assess the Firm's financial position; investors to make informed decisions and regulators to supervise and examine us appropriately. Our goal is to continuously improve the reporting process through enhancements to the control environment and to improve the operating model.

 

This role offers the opportunity to be a part of the team responsible for consolidating financial information; preparing and reporting consolidated financial results; as well as controlling and reporting for certain legal entities, including the parent company.

 

Specifically, as a Senior Associate you would be responsible for the following:

 


  • Preparing the Earnings Release Supplement


    • The Supplement has many business interrelationships within the worksheet and with other reports (LOB Flash reports, 10-Q/K, etc.) as well as an extensive set of schedules (many linkages) with embedded word documents for comments and footnotes,

    • This person will be required to understand the results of the Firm, so interest in researching business drivers, understanding current events and how they affect the Firm, as well as have the ability to manipulate data from multiple sources



  • Writing the Results of Operations and certain lines of the Balance Sheet Analysis  - these are included in our 10-Q/K

  • Assisting our SEC Reporting and Compliance team during the quarterly reporting cycle including research work related to Audit Committee disclosure items, preparation and review of certain footnotes, follow up with the LOBs on certain items needing additional background information

  • Responding to requests from Investor Relations, supplying ad hoc data to the Office of the Secretary

  • Performing certain high-level analysis of our Financials on a monthly basis


Please note that this role require overtime work but mostly during the Earnings Press Release time frame.

  • Preferably over 5 years of experience in understanding financial statements

  • Keen analytical skills

  • Strong control/documentation background

  • Very strong written and verbal communications skills - significant interaction with multiple members of different teams as all levels

  • Ability to work on multiple priorities for different sponsors at the same time

  • Extremely strong organizational skills

  • Excellent computer skills with advanced proficiency in Word and Excel

  • Proficiency in Hyperion, GLW/CDGL, CMR
