Basic Job Function ~This position exists to work closely with Consultants, Engagement Managers and client analysts to design and execute all types of client-specific tasks within an analytical project data analysis, modeling, and change management; to develop and deliver customized presentations for prospective clients; and to utilize advanced technical skills to develop new and existing product modules in collaboration with product managers. Typical project size: up to $500,000.|Accountabilities ~Analysis:1. Data - Specify the required client data extracts and analyze in order to propose a client-specific transformation process for preparing data for use in analytics products. 2. Oversee the development of analytical datamarts (supervising and assisting consultants and client analysts). 3. Specify necessary workarounds and requirements leading to a solution. 4. Specify the required tasks to reconcile the data outputs prior to tool usage.Predictive Modeling: 1. Oversee the modeling process performed by consultants and client analysts. 2. Utilize existing insights to develop a candidate set of variables for use as loss, conversion, retention, elasticity, or other predictors. 3. Create models with a subset of these variables using advanced techniques including significance, correlation and fit testing, and variable transformations and Analytics modeling tools and R or SAS as needed. 4. Propose and create suitable GLMs for volume, endorsement, cancellation, and other models, addressing the nuances of the model purpose. 6. Summarize results and present back to all stakeholders. 7. Tool configuration and usage: Specify the extent of inputs required for tool configuration, taking into the consideration the goals, available resources and time constraints of the client. 8. Oversee consultants to work closely with client analysts to specify and obtain all required inputs for analytics tool configuration, including the models specified above. 9. Identify tradeoffs or approximations that result from the selected inputs. 10. Identify, procure, and analyze client management reports, using these to reconcile tool output prior to use. 11. Review client tool usage and recommend appropriate parameters and price changes. Consulting: 1. Projects: For each client, interview client executives to determine project flow and requirements. 2. Specify, develop, and deliver logically structured presentations to inform client executives on the LexisNexis approach, use of analytics tools and the processes required for project completion. 3. Specify documentation to reaffirm this information and ensure knowledge transfer. 4. Specify and develop presentations on the outcomes of project modules to inform client executives. 5. Allocate resources or respond directly to client questions and concerns. 6. Be familiar with insurance industry and terminology, including competitive landscape, insurance product configuration, and best practices in research, product management, and marketing. 7. Deliver on projects which produce a typical revenue impact of $500,000. 8. Exhibit strong listening and empathy skills with clients and internal stakeholders.Management: 1. Specify project modules, allocating responsibility and monitoring performance. 2. Supervise consultants and client analysts, including responding to questions, troubleshooting complex issues and specifying workarounds or alternative processes. 3. Verify completion of project tasks. 4. Take responsibility for delivery of sub-products, reporting status and findings to project management regularly. 5. Co-ordinate multiple tasks within internal and client projects. 6. Specify the requirements for project resources include servers, datasets, and tools. 7. New Projects: Attend and present at sales presentations and discussions for informing potential clients worldwide. 8. Assist in the structuring of client scoping projects by developing an understanding of the existing operations, goals, and unmet needs of the client. Within a short timeframe, use advanced techniques to identify the value of a project and/or tool purchase to the client.Research & Development1. Products: Research and develop solutions including (but not limited to) user interface design, data analysis and transformation, model creation and analysis, premium rating, execution of data conversion scripts, licensing, and reporting. 2. Understand breadth of related products and design appropriate interfaces.|Qualifications ~1. Bachelor of Science, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Math or Statistics. Demonstrated exceptional results in these areas. 2. 2-4 years experience in software development, data analysis and manipulation, modeling, statistical analysis, client analyst management, business strategy or advanced degree. 3. Familiarity with at least 2 software development or data manipulation languages. 4. Familiarity with common operating systems and software development packages. 5. Experience or training in client management, effective communication and presentations, business strategies, time management, problem framing and change management. 6. Ability to disaggregate complex problems into component parts and analyze each rigorously. 7. Ability to explain and demonstrate complex concepts clearly and succinctly, both verbally and written. 8. Ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly. 9. Team player and mentor amongst colleagues and clients. 10. Highly capable in a range of skills to complete varied tasks in parallel. 11. Ability to prioritize work flow and manage allocated tasks independently. 12. Must be extremely adaptable and proactive and be able to stay focused during stressful periods. 13. Ability to develop and present creative solutions to task hurdles such as schedule recovery and unforeseen process pitfalls.
