JOB INFORMATION



Assist with planning and fieldwork implementation of audits/projects to assess less complex functionalities and output of various information technology systems, applications and platforms/operating systems for compliance with corporate policies and procedures. Review the system development life cycle projects for cost and timeliness and achievement of stated business objectives. Develop and demonstrate generalized knowledge of the mortgage industry and Fannie Mae's information technology applications.



KEY JOB FUNCTIONS




  • Assist with audit planning and drafting initial audit scope. Document details of planning and walkthrough meetings. Develop, document and execute audit test steps in partnership with more senior team members.

  • Assist in the design and implementation of controls for information technology systems for assigned business units. Gather and document sufficient information and data during the course of audits and refer to IT Senior Auditor or Manager/Director for use in communicating IT audit results to senior management.

  • Document work performed in accordance with audit policies and procedures. Review documentation of the standard operations of IT systems being audited. Assess compliance of IT systems with policies and procedures and other internal controls.

  • Identify and discuss audit findings with audit team and document exceptions. May recommend corrective actions in regards to assigned information technology systems audit programs. Assist with drafting audit reports and key deliverables (e.g., ICIs).

  • Collaborate and share knowledge with audit teams across the Internal Audit organization, as appropriate.

  • Build and maintain relationships with business partner managers and staff.

EDUCATION


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required


Certifications


  • CISA (strongly preferred), CISSP, CPA and/or CIA


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE


  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Mortgage Banking and/or previous Fannie Mae-specific experience.


SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS


  • Working knowledge of IT auditing control disciplines including information security, configuration and change management, systems development, and disaster recovery.

  • Some experience auditing UNIX and Windows platforms, Oracle databases, and network security controls.

  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to perform reasonableness checking of testing results and of own work.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
