Purpose and Function of Job: Perform loan-servicing audits as required by FHA .To include focus on default management, including government claims reviews. Facilitate comprehensive and accurate audit responses with servicing management. Principle Accountabilities: 1. Prepare accurate selection and scope of loans to be reviewed. 2. Perform testing of specific criteria as well as expanded and/or adhoc testing depending on risk. 3. Track management responses and action plans. 4. Recommend viable solutions/improvements to processes and workflows to include training, technology enhancements, and new procedures. 5. Meet required audit and final reporting deadlines. 6. Interact with third parties in coordinating their oversight reviews. 7. Screen and quality check documentation prior to furnishing to external parties. Position-Specific Accountabilities: Ensure that FHA service levels and objectives are being met. Foster productive working relationships with Servicing Management as well as third party reviewers. Identify key risk areas for review and offer recommendations for improvement to appropriate operational management. Initiate and improve audit requirements communications between the business and third party reviewers Interface with functional Directors and Managers. Summarize and communicate audit findings to operational management Education and Experience Requirements: Proven ability to complete internal audits preferably in government first mortgage and/or consumer loan servicing. Strong knowledge of all HUD government servicing procedures including an understanding of related industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of audit experience in a mortgage-servicing environment. Candidate should have well-rounded audit and finance knowledge, including developing audit scope, planning test work and preparing preliminary reports. Strong technical and computer skills required. Bachelors degree required. Must possess proven ability to identify problems and use initiative to creatively solve problems. Work Environment (e.g., office, field, travel, etc.): Office hours and required off site travel may vary based on review schedules. Reporting Relationships: Reports to Manager of HUD Servicing Quality Assurance- Servicing Risk Management. Primary customers of this position include: Team Leaders, Managers and Directors as well as representatives of third party oversight group.
