The SMSF Graduate Accountant will be responsible for ensuring all financial reporting and compliance obligations are met for the Self Managed Superannuation Funds under the MLC SMSF Service.

In this role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation and review of annual financial statements, SMSF tax returns and other tax, statutory and industry returns where applicable.
  • Complete comprehensive checklist and working papers when preparing financial statements and tax return
  • All reporting is accurate and lodged by due date and all compliance obligations are met with no significant controllable audit management letter points or controllable qualified audit opinions
  • Responsibility for GST and PAYGW obligations including reviewing of BAS/IAS, PAYG Payment Summaries and lodgements
  • Liaising with a range of audiences including Tax Agents, external actuaries and auditors and responding to internal and external client enquiries

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Strong relationship management skills
  • One-three years of relevant financial reporting experience in a financial services environment or accounting firm;
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting
  • Currently studying  or about to commence CA / CPA
  • SMSF experience is preferred
