Risk and Compliance Analyst

First State Investments is the international operation of Colonial First State Global Asset Management (CFS GAM), the asset management business of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. CFS GAM has funds under management of US$138.8 billion as at 30 September 2011 and is one of the largest asset managers in Australia with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, London, Edinburgh, Hong Kong, Singapore, Jakarta, Tokyo and New York.

We are currently recruiting a Risk and Compliance Analyst to join our driven and dynamic team!

As the Risk and Compliance Analyst you will assist the Head of Risk Management and Compliance, First State Investments (FSI) to execute the groups risk framework within FSI Indonesia.

This will involve assisting the business to identify, measure and manage risks and obligations plus the monitoring of controls.  Based in Jakarta, Indonesia this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is seeking to take the next step in his or her career and work for a large global organisation.

The day-to-day work of the role will include but not limited to:

  • Facilitating the introduction of the AMA components of the risk framework;
  • Identifying obligations arising from the business and monitor compliance using relevant requirements and standards contained within the regulator systems and internal policies applicable to FSI Indonesia's business operation;
  • Oversight of the issue management process to ensure breaches are captured, analysed, escalated as required, corrective action taken and progress reported;
  • Supporting regular reporting to subsidiary boards and committees, management governance forums, the WM CRO and Group functions to assist in identifying, measuring and controlling risks and obligations;
  • Supporting the development of appropriate risk and compliance policies and procedures, associated communications and training; and
  • Supporting the business to identify and assess risks and satisfy obligations with respect to new/modified products, marketing materials, offer documents and other transactions.

As the ideal candidate you will have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in Bahasa-Indonesian.  In addition you will be tertiary qualified in finance, accounting or risk management coupled with experience and understanding of risk management practice.
