You need to log in before you can view the Recruiter's contact details. PURPOSE OF THE JOB Responsible for review and analysis of risk returns and assisting with submission of these returns to Barclays (FSA returns) and the South African Reserve Bank (BA returns) RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate and review resources from other areas of the Group, planning and managing the timetable of data collection, consolidation and review
  • Perform a review and analysis on returns to be able to provide meaningful responses on queries raised
  • Review the workings on the calculations and returns as performed by the preparer
  • Perform trend analysis of data and risk returns, including a monthly variance analysis
  • Obtain and review the adequacy of commentary as collated and prepared by the preparer on the movements from the relevant business units
  • Review the mappings of data for all of returns
  • Review the accuracy of the adjustments and journals prepared by the preparer
  • Prepare and follow up on queries with the relevant business units
  • Prepare the monthly review pack and information, including supporting schedules
  • Maintain, follow up and assist with the resolution of all action points raised at the internal and executive review meetings
  • Provide meaningful responses on queries raised by management, internal forums, Barclays and SARB on the financial and risk returns
  • Collate, coordinate and compile responses for review by GRR management on SARB queries and for SARB graph discussion meetings
  • Review the completed financial and risk returns and other relevant returns in line with the requirements set out in the SARB and or FSA Regulations
  • Review processes and assist with development, review and maintenance of regulatory policies and procedures
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors and provide assistance during such audits
  • Provide input and oversee ad-hoc projects which involves systems change and development
  • Review and assess business process efficiencies, including guiding and influencing systems development and business awareness and understanding
  • Facilitate the successful implementation of system changes
  • Provide guidance and assistance through on the job training to team members
  • Participation in at least two training initiatives, assisting in equipping peers with broader knowledge and guidance
  • Complete attestations to testify to the adequacy of controls on request
  • Document new procedures and maintain existing procedure documents
  • Review and maintain the operational procedure documents within the capital reporting team
  • Perform a review of the working files as prepared
  • Be involved in and assist in the delivery of Group wide projects and initiatives on an ad-hoc basis

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • B Com or Risk Degree or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification or higher
  • Five(5) years experience in banking or financial services industry
  • Three(3) years experience in regulatory environment, with specific knowledge of Basel II
  • Three(3) years experience in the preparation and review of BA returns
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the Internet
  • No criminal record
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience in the preparation of FSA returns
  • Experience in people management.
  • Preference will be given to South African Citizens and Permanent residents of South Africa in possession of proof of permanent resident status
