PURPOSE OF THE JOB A specialist member of the Regulatory Validations team responsible for the 2ndtier checking, validation, control and reporting of all requirement in the Regulatory Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions (KAMLS) process and procedures for all client relationships in accordance with regulatory requirements, policy guidelines, business rules and legal framework. RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide Support by explaining the reasons behind the importance of Know your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions (KAMLS) requirements and procedures to Relationship Executives
- Perform the 2ndtier check and validation of customer files prepared
- Check and validate files prepared by front line on a trigger event which entails expert ability to decipher complex company structures and be alert for any information that could be considered suspicious
- Identify KYC and KAMLS outstanding requirements and assist in the solutioning of KYC and KAMLS shortcomings which renders clients non-compliant in terms of regulatory and business rules.
- Identify training needs and escalate to management where
- Address and resolve internal client queries
- Record and escalate non conformance or deviations from policy and regulatory requirements to management
- Action applicable system listing, e.g. Cheque account daily master listing (CQL463), and see to the migration of KYC and KAMLS files when accounts are transferred between business units
- Maintain a central filing system for KYC and KAMLS files
- Perform a complete file review on a trigger event, e.g. annual review of facilities etc.
- Pro-actively perform file reviews in own portfolio to ensure that frontline is aware of any outstanding regulatory documentation
- Ongoing monitoring of portfolio of accounts to ensure that account opening procedures are followed and checked

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS - IOB certificate in banking or IOB diploma in credit or equivalent NQF level 5 or higher qualification
- Six (6) years general banking experience with Three (3) years experience in corporate or business banking
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the Internet
- No criminal record
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS - B Degree in Commerce or Law or equivalent NQF level 6 or higher qualification
- Two (2) years experience in regulatory compliance environment
- Preference will be given to South African Citizens and Permanent residents of South Africa in possession of proof of permanent resident status
